Sick morning humor attempt. Jane's car wreck were she was decapitated.
When she was a child, my mother was with her parents in their car behind that accident. My mom saw the immediate aftermath and was traumatized for life by it. Until the day she died, she had nightmares about severed heads. She would go nearly catatonic when she saw a head removed in a movie.

    Sad all around.

Let a dozen or so go with the old Philco record player last summer.

Reminds me of the scene described in ‘The Choirboys’ (Los Angeles) where the cops are working a terrible fatal accident scene. Being disgusted at all the “rubberneckers”, and fielding a question from a family in an Ohio-tagged station wagon that had slowed down, “Anybody hurt?”

One cop comes up from the embankment and holds up a severed head saying, “this one got banged up a little.” As screams from the station wagon faded in the distance, the cop told his partner he was waiting for an out-of-state car so he wouldn’t be reported. (Author: Joseph Wambaugh)

Jane's daughter Mariska Hargitay played the female cop on Law and Order Special Victims Unit and along with her two brothers was in the backseat at the time of the accident.

This comment jogged my memory on something I read.

That low bar on the back of 18 wheeler trailers is named after her (the mother) because of that incident. That's when it became required safety equipment.
