Suppressors should cost less than $100?

that depends on what they are made of and how close of tolerances you want to hold.

Now I am not saying they should all cost 1500

But the shop making a low volume item out of high dollar material has got to pay the bills.

So how would you order that and Form 1 it?

Seems like if you had the logistics down for storing the parts prior to stamp being approved it would be cheaper than other routes. Being less than $350 or so in a can would be nice.
Seems like it would be completely legal. It looks like they're shipped with one threaded cap and one solid cap. So buy, document, submit form 1, wait for the stamp, etch serial, and drill out the end cap. Or am I missing something?

Also, they sell them from china for a third to a quarter of those prices. It takes 4-6 weeks to get them, but those even look like some of the same pictures.

If they are coming out of china, they are probably made out of pot metal.

I saw that ad today. I almost bought one, in fact, I even had the information filled out for the order. I want a good way to clean my AR without spilling Hoppes on the carpet. Then it hit me, I lost my AR in a boating accident, thus I cancelled at the last second.

There are several American machining companies that sell these. They range from low one hundreds to about $300 in titanium. I'm no lawyer but if you consider buying one of these be legally safe and get the Form 1 BEFORE you order any parts.

Here is an article on how to do this and not get into hot water with BATF
    https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2020/04/18/form-1-suppressor/

And here is an example of what is out there.

After posting I realized this probably old news to most...

    baboon & All,

Personally, I'd like to keep what hearing that I have left (I first served on active duty when hardly anyone wore earplugs on the ranges. = The 106mm Recoiless Rifle will QUICKLY "do a job on your hearing".) AND think that IF I want to buy/use a suppressor, it should NOT be anyone's business but mine.

    just my OPINION, satx

Let me understand this. It is not legal to mount a fuel filter on your personal rifle Nobody should care what you do with a fuel filter. Just the other day I was gun boating. It's a fav pass-time of members here. Just before all my AR's drowned of their own accord, and my handguns dove in on their own. I was thinking, what this boat needs is a cool looking fuel filter. I could also use the filter on a rifle to determine if the gun has been huffing gasoline. You know how sneaky they are. Why would this somehow be illegal?
