Any of you care to chime in of you believe Brushy Bill is Billy the Kid? There's a lot of evidence saying that Pat Garrett didn't kill The Kid.

I've visited Brushy Bills grave site in Hamilton, Tx. I plan on taking the wife and daughter to see it and visit the museum in Hico when the Wuhan Wheeze goes away.

Crappy weather and Corona lockdown got me bored so I've been studying up on gunslingers.

I love old west history! There’s a bit of info and pictures of Brushy Bill at the Billy the Kid museum in Ft. Sumner, NM too. I didn’t know there was a museum at Bill Roberts grave too! I have to go check it out.

I had my doubts about his claim to be THE Kid, but it’s been a while since I read about it so I don’t remember why.

One thing for certain there is no positive proof that William was actually killed by Garret.

Yeah, I read that a US Marshall turned over the body that Pat Garret killed and said "that's not Billy the Kid". People believe that Garret buried the body quickly so that people wouldn't know he killed an innocent man.

Someone else I've been reading about is John Wesley Hardin. I knew a little about him, like was the son of a Methodist preacher and he killed a man for snoring. I had no idea that he killed so many people though. He killed men all over Tx. I also didn't know that Doc Holliday lived in Tx and had a successful dental practice in downtown Dallas.

There was no proof that Pat Garret actually killed William H. Bonney nor was there any proof that Brushy Bill Roberts was not William H Bonney. So yes, I thinks it's true.

One of my favorites, are the stories about Tom Horn.
There is a paperback you guys might like. It is called the "The Shooters" by Leon C Metz. It covers Old West gunmen from Billy the Kid to Doc Holiday. 28 Chapters of interesting reading. I read it cover to cover waiting for jury selection. Glad I did not get picked.
