I am going to be listing my Gemtech Oasis, integrally suppressed Ruger 22/45 pistol. And am not sure what procedures I need to follow, and what the buyer needs to do.
This is my first time selling one of my Class III firearms.
    Thanks

    What Baboon said...
Main thing is the wait for the form to be processed and a new tax stamp issued to the “new owner”.

Was it purchased on a Form 4 Individual or a trust?
I am going to check. I have purchased on both a trust and corp.

It's really not worth much on the used market. Because it's such a hassle to get these things most people are going to want a brand new item. If you need cash I'd sell something else. If you don't want it anymore I'd just stash it in the safe and hold on to it.
One of my best friends is 20+ years older then myself. Years back when I first got my trust he gave me a John's guns .30 suppressor, Ruger integrally suppressed 77/22, Ruger integrally suppressed MKII. The reason was he tried to sell his John's built Remington police sniper & suppressor. It turned into a mess with the transfer. He figure I was legal & it was his best way to get out of his NFA.

I don't need the cash. I just haven't shot it in a couple of years and hate to see it just sitting there every time I open the safe.
How did he go about giving it to you? Is the same paperwork involved?

Same deal as selling. File the form 4 & wait for approval I paid for the 3 stamps. It all hinges on if the person can own them.

If you have the item on a Trust,You could add the buyer onto the Trust if both parties agreed to it. Then get paid for the item, and give him/her a copy of the Trust & Tax stamp.

An Oasis is an easy sell under normal market conditions. It is no longer made, and like Ruger 96/22 many folks now want them.
I looked the Oasis up and it looks like several places are referring to the Mist 10/22 bbl as an Oasis. Is there a 10/22 version of the Oasis or are they all pistol bbl's?

There was an OASIS-P for 22/45 pistols which is what OP has and is discontinued.
There was an OASIS-R for 10/22 rifles is discontinued.

The MIST came out a few years after these were discontinued and is for 10/22 pattern.

This is the ugly truth of class III, there is very little resale value except with F/A weapons. Apparently the gold standard is the HK Sear. Anything else is almost a total loss.

I would say figure out your terms, & find a contract you can agree with. He then pays you what you agree to & signs the contract. Form 4 gets filled out & money for the tax stamp & shipped. Then you wait. Nothing transfer until approval. If anthing else is owed per contract you would collect that too.

It may make sense to have the buyer pay half now, then the other half once they get the stamp and are able to pickup the merchandise from you.
