What criterion is being used to decide what is or isn't essential?

Oh right, whimsy of the decider, of course....you Mr. Rancher/Farmer don't 'need' fencing material to keep feral hogs from destroying your new borns or crops...now get along.

It's bad enough the bureaucrats want to tell you: No travel, must stay home, wear masks and gloves, but also tell what you can and can't buy?

    A big rousing F Yoooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuu!

Can anyone help me with a mystery?: The Johns Hopkins dashboard page (posted here multi times) shows something like 24,000 "recovered" in the US. Yet, when I go click on most/all of the city centers (Bexar, Harris included) it shows "0" for every single one I looked at. Atlanta, Denver, west coast, all the same.
So, where do the 24,000 come from? Tiny counties? Just a glitch with the tool? Something else?
Anyone else notice this and already answer it?
    Help.

Don't know what website you're using, but San Antonio/Bexar County is showing 92 recovered out of 554 cases (17%)...

    For those who can access:
    https://www.wsj.com/articles/farmer...ses-restaurants-11586439722?mod=hp_lead_pos10

Farmers dumping milk on the ground. Butter and cheese producers they sell to are set up for restaurant packaging and can't easily or quickly convert to consumer packaging. 7% of milk production dumped.

Dairy cows being sent to slaughter.

    Farmers plowing under vegetable crops.

Poultry operations disposing of laying eggs due to dropped restaurant demand. May start killing and burying chickens.

Pork producers going from profitable bacon production to lard production - due to, you guessed it, restaurant demand drop. They also cannot switch to consumer packaging easily.

Simply insane. Thanks to the mass hysteria.

Yes, that was what prompted me to look. I heard Mayor Ron give that figure last night, but the "dashboard site" looks like this as of just now:
    upload_2020-4-9_12-3-4.png

This is the site I have bookmarked:
    https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
I guess it's just unreliable. It often shows "no data" or zeroes for the lower level data. I thought JH was prestigious enough to run a site like this. Guess not.

The bigger question is why they do not provide data on how many people tested positive and have no symptoms? We know that with these drive up testing sites, a lot of folks are getting tested with many showing positive but not showing any illness. Just like the other viral diseases...if 100 people are exposed, 50 will not get ill, of the 50 that do get ill 25 will have mild symptoms, of the 25 who have serious symptoms, 2 will die mostly because of pre existing health issues. The 2% number is pretty consistent with most of these diseases
