We've got a local place called Red Bud Roasters. I usually buy beans from them. My boys are absolute coffee snobs and they say Red Bud is decent, so it's plenty good enough for me.

Havnt been drinking much of the stuff lately, but used to regularly buy a few pounds at a time from a gentleman who roast the beans at his house near Valley View. Excellent coffee!

I use a French press, makes a great large cup of coffee. I just need a multi cup French press so I don’t have to make multiple batches.

Vietnamese Iced Coffee= about 3 time the coffee & chickory with sweetened condensed milk over ice. 2 will make your eyes bounce.

Traditional method uses espresso because they didn’t have that fancy stuff back in the day

My mom would drink it all day long, no wonder she would go to bed at 2 am when I was growing up LOL

I pattern my morning cup based on the recipe at a local place, they call it rocket fuel. It has ghee butter and coconut MCT oil, maple syrup and cream. Topped with whipped cream because I’m fancy like that.

Coffee is cheater K-cups, Donut shop flavor. After I put all that crap in it, I can’t taste the coffee anyway LOL

A friend gave me a pound of coffee labeled "Jamaica Blue Mountain". I don't remember anything more about it except it was the best coffee I ever had. I made that pound last a long time!

We’re having some in the morning in celebration of my wife “turning the corner” on her COVID-19 infection! Life is good!

As a self professed coffee snob...

    1. If you are ever in an area with a Peet's coffee shop, try it out. The coffee and espresso is first rate for a coffee shop. Not gourmet quality but good stuff made the right way.

    2. At home we use a Bunn coffee maker to brew a range of coffees. Surprisingly, the Folgers 1850 is pretty good stuff for the price.

    3. Every afternoon the wife and I enjoy a Nespresso, changing it up based on our mood for strength and flavor. This machine makes great coffee, espresso and specialty drinks. We have the Verturo which has a electronic code on the capsule that tells the machine how much water, etc. I never believed the machine was worth the money and you can only buy the Verturo pods from Nespresso or one of their retailers, but it is good stuff.

    4. When on the road, I always look for a Pilot. They have a machine that grinds your choice of 4 different beans and brews it on the spot for you.

    5. To show my age, I was introduced to coffee by my dad who always drank Hills Brothers, the one with the Arab guy in the long garb. Dad used to make open pot coffee...boil the water, dump in the grounds and then use a strainer to pour it in a cup. Kept my eyes wide open on those 4 am duck hunts.

I’ve seen the Folgers 1850 coffee in stores but never tried it - I’ll have to give it a shot. Another semi-national brand that’s not too bad - comparable to Folgers (perhaps one notch above) is Chock Full of Nuts. I say “semi-national” because it’s a little hard to find. Last time or two I bought it from Amazon (Smiles) to fill out an order for ‘free shipping’.

Try 100% Kona Coffee, order it online, not the Kona "blends" you find in stores. 100% Kona, in "Peaberry" is vlose to heaven in a cup!

While green beans can be stored in a cool dry place for (sometimes) years, once roasted, whole bean coffee peaks in flavor in about 48 hours. After that it declines in flavor and intensity rather quickly no matter how it’s stored. Vacuum packing can slow but not stop that decline.

Coffee is a science. I roast weekly for our family. Green beans are easily sourced from coffee bean corral, sweet Maria’s, klatch, uncle beanz and others. It can be roasted in many ways, some of which are inexpensive. Sweet Maria’s has some good tutorials.

Seriously, once you’ve tried it it’s hard to go back to store bought, but it’s a relaxing hobby despite the caffeine.

This creamer from Costco is pretty good, and good for you. It’s what we use in our coffee.

A coworker poured me a cup of coffee from an Aeropress and I was impressed. I have been thinking of picking one up.

We typically drink Kirkland brand k-cups but when I grind coffee, we have some 100% Kona coffee from a friend's coffee farm in Hawaii. That stuff is so good.
Mmm! Kona! I'd forgotten about it being so good. My daughter lived in Hawaii for 3or4 years back in the early 90's & used to send me "care packages" of Kona. Good stuff.

I remember having lunch outside @ a Vietnamese cafe. Guys pounding down the coffee & chain smoking playing dominos. When they talked it sounded like burst from mini guns.

Yup, Black Rifle's one of the best I've found. You can make it really strong without it becoming bitter.
I prefer their 'AK' or 'Gunship' blends.

My daughter and son-in-law gives me a pound of Black rifle twice a year and last Christmas, along with the Black Rifle, gave me one from Alpha Coffee called Warrior Select Combat Roast.
It's a great coffee if you like it black and strong, which I do.

Damn! Y'all are giving some excellent suggestions.

Several mentioned, I have tried and like. Some others I have heard of, and would like to try.

My coffee drinking goes back to when I was a youngster, and my grandmother making coffee in a drip pot coffee maker. The entire house had the aroma of fresh brewed coffee. My grandfather drank his black, and Granny, with a bit of sugar and creamer. I started drinking coffee, because my Papa did. If he liked it, then it must be good!

I'm not an expert on coffee, but it is something that I do enjoy a lot.

I like mine strong and black. If you throw a chunk of concrete in it and it floats, it’s probably strong enough for me.

There are so many coffees today, and it basically depends on ones tastes. I preferred Starbuck's back when it was a little coffee shop at Pike Place Market. My tastes have gone more toward the bolder, dark blends, but I don't often drink the same types all the time. One of my favorite dark coffees is Sumatra, but then even Folgers Black Silk (which is what I mainly buy for my office) can taste great after drinking one type for awhile. I really like Black Rifle coffee, just not a fan of their prices.

As a kid the smell of coffee in the morning gagged me. It wasn't until I was well into my 30's that I started drinking it. I drink it now in the winter mornings, but once warmer weather comes I stop. While working I like a coke beer for my caffeine. Excedrin with their caffeine content have served me well over the years too.

    You like coke and beer?

Wouldn't that combo make one a jittery drunk?

Isn't the first one illegal or like weed, it's been legalized?
I presume you are talking cocaine and not the cola, and no it's not legal. Although derivatives of coca are used in many forms, some of which you can buy without a prescription.
