    To All,

Picked up the TC, cleaned out the fuel injection system, changed spark plugs & had the fuel pump assembly changed on my "new to me" 1992 Lincoln Town Car.

It now runs PERFECTLY & the engine is so quiet that it is hard to hear at idle.

I still need BOTH parking/cornering lights, a new radio antenna, the trailer hitch installed, the 2M radio installed & to buy a couple of small & "hard to find" trim pieces for the interior.

THANKS AGAIN to Chris, who made this deal happen. = As my lady says, "You're a PEACH, Chris."

    yours, satx

A guy I know on another forum gets distributor pricing, so it was discounted pretty nicely.

I got the F1 cover, plus the accessory tool box, shipped to me for less than MSRP for the F1 alone.

If any of y’all are interested, I can see if he’d allow us to do a group buy for TGT members

    I got a 2004 and a 2003 Land Rover Discovery2 in a package deal a few weeks ago.

The 2003 wasn't running but the 2004 was.

Did head gaskets on both and the 2004 is running great after I chased down a vacuum and electrical fault the PO's mechanic created when he left some stuff unplugged after a tranny swap.

    Since then I have:
    Fixed the door lock
    New left hand CV
New diff and transfer case lube
Wheeled it moderately in stock form

The traction control works amazingly well and I have a center diff lock if it doesn't. Even with street tires and no lift I can get over an impressive amount of stuff without having to power over it.

    Next mods will be
    2" lift
The narrowest 32" A/T tires I can find
Front and rear steel bumpers and a front winch.

In the distant future a nice roof rack might happen too...

It was been the easiest vehicle to work on that I have owned other than my stock 1969 CJ5...

The Rover V8 is a good engine. It's an evolution of the Buick v8.

Discoveries are great on road, too. They are one of the few SUVs that do both on-road and off-road really well.

Are you still running bags on that unit or have you done a coil swap?

They dry-rot. The OEM bags (way expensive) on the late 80's to mid 90's Lincolns have about a 10 year life span. I got 6 years out of the aftermarket units on my Mark VII and then the rears started to leak. Some guys on the Mark VII forum claim that every so often they lift the car off the ground with out disabling the air suspension (initiates a full deflate) to expose the entire outer side of the bag and hose them down with Black Magic or similar silicone based preservative to extend the longevity.

For the price of a full (4) set of bags I bought a set of coil springs (like $950 in 2002) that dropped it 1-1/2 inches (I haven't seen these {drop spring kits} available in a long time). Which is what a Mark VIII 8 will do automatically at 60mph. I had been experimenting trying to modify the factory air ride system to where I could control it with a bigger compressor, tank and solenoids that I controlled with manual switches and digital gauges. I couldn't get it to work right so I scrapped the whole deal and swapped to coils. The drop springs are stiffer and have less travel so it eliminated what I call the "float" effect on the interstate.
