So the wife has been cleaning and sold about 500 bucks worth of junk. I'll never see a penny but I'll remind her of it when a new shiny follows me home in the future.

We have people fighting for the junk we put at the curb, and I mean junk. I dont know how they know it's there but as soon as it hits the curb they circle like vultures.

Anyone else taking advantage of the quarantine to make a little cash. Clean a little.

We can actually park a car in our garage now. Not that we would but we could.

When I lived in Odessa I had one of those magic curbs in front of my house. No matter what I put out there, it disappeared pretty quickly. I had a 65” LG plasma TV that required a new power supply board about once a year. After I got tired of that and bought a new TV we took that one to the curb. As my son and I were setting it down, this guy in a smart car stopped and asked what was wrong with it. Not only did he take it, but he paid my son $35 to haul it to his house in his pickup.

There was an old washer and dryer in the back yard shed when we bought that house. I took the washer out to the curb on my dolly, and by the time I got back with the dryer, there was a guy parked there asking if I could help him load it.

I sure miss having that opportunity to get rid of things.

Fellow in our area cruises by regularly to pick up things left by the curb. Glad to see it. Whether he is selling to someone who wants it as is, recycling or repairing and selling - all are better than that stuff going to the dump.

So what's her preferred market/tools/whatever for bringing the junk to the attention of the people who will pay for it?

I'm always interested in what methods people use to sell their junk. After all, it's not just garage sales and eBay anymore.

    Facebook marketplace is pretty good.
It’s really the only reason why I’m on FB at all these days.

    Edit: typo

Yep marketplace. You get hundreds or thousands of views. People come to your house with big stuff and throw money at you for your junk.

I always have the dogs out barking and ofcourse you have people coming to your home so that's a risk. Small but a risk.

I generally meet folks at the QT store near my house. Never at at my home.

But the curb thing is awesome. Most of the stuff I sit out there doesn’t make it to trash day.

My wife used to walk 2-3 miles a day. She loved Sunday and Monday’s because people sat furniture out. She like to refinish / recover chairs. I think all my kids have at least one chair she reworked. Every one of them came off the curb in front of someone’s house.

One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Apparently, folks know how to get the rest of the sweet out of the gum of what we consider junk..

Fine by me, but no, I'm not going to help you load it.

I got it to the curb - you load it.

    It's now your 'precious'........
