Not wholly unexpected. DoD frowns on commanders publicly airing their grievances.

I saw that coming as soon as I heard it on the news.

ETA: What I meant was I knew he would be relieved as soon as I saw his "oh please help us" story on the news.

Me thinks the good Captain is not guilty of wrongdoing here.
He alerted his superiors to an impending problem thru channels.
Some stooge saw it and let the info out. Probably some little commie bastard.

Oh he’s guilt as charged. The leak isn’t what caused the loss of faith in his ability to command, it was the tone; the letter wasn’t the first shot fired, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The "news" outlets have gone full-on stupid. This was a headline on Drudge, up near where all the NY disaster articles are posted. Title is "Man succumbs on subway".
    https://www.fox5ny.com/news/man-found-dead-on-subway-train
Notice the link name does not say what caused his death. Has not been confirmed to have ANYthing to do with CV. Now, read the last two sentences of the story and tell me what's wrong with the picture?

Lunchlady is still workin. Money is not tied to testing scores so much as to how many under privileged children you feed (thanks Moochelle) so the show must go on.

The busses run their routes handing out meals (on wheels)
Well. I reckon the timing was right.
    Damn.

    I've seen the same.

    Hospitals are bracing.
Texas is quite a favorable place to be relative to our national stage...still:
Predictions are 29 daily Texas deaths per 24 hours, one week from now.
Frighteningly, that prediction is 161 daily Texan deaths 5 weeks from now at the peak.

Stay safe and do not take unneeded risks with your body.
If you mis-step and screw up your knee or fall and injure a rotator cuff , what would normally be surgically corrected next week may, given present prohibitions on "elective" surgery not get attended to for months.
They didn't quit predicting after the 2016 election?

Glad we have HK Shooter here to cut through all the fake news and tell us how all those doctors are wrong.

    Hey!
I was stepping aside of the fray until you brought it up.

    https://public-cdn.sermo.com/covid1...ve-i-sermo-covid-19-global-analysis-final.pdf

There is the actual Sermo survey.
It has a massive amount of speculative opinion and no clinical data.

I do believe that the last two posts I've made clearly stated that a lot of docs are using it out of desperation and are hoping that they, eventually, are to be presented with some evidence based data to support it's efficacy.

The two pulmonologist intensivists I know well readily admit they have scant data other than anecdotes.
I believe there is one study out of Wuhan China that reported on 15 patients treated vs. 16 in the control group with what seemed to be encouraging, though not statistical significant benefit given the tiny cohort sizes.
Let us hope and pray it offers some benefit.

I can find no well done controlled studies in the western literature to date.
The honest and trustworthy physicians have never been know to say "we don't know" so many times in rapid succession as they are doing now.

And, yes, fake news gives me hives.
Like the unfounded nonsense last week about Motrin/ibuprofen being bad for covid patients.
Hydrochloroquin may or may not do anything. I sure hope it does.

Laredo has gone full Nazi, all residents are to stay indoors from 10PM to 5AM or risk being fined. Plus wear a mask if you are nar others, pumping gas or enter a commercial/public building. There are few exceptions and you must have papers from your employer.

I know STRAC and Bexar County are looking at that very closely.
Laredo is ahead of the societal curve in recommending masks for all in public places.
When I was a teen my wise father taught me that nothing good happens after 10PM. True then, more true now.
There are projected to be 160 COVID-hypoxic dead Texans every 24 hours 4-6 weeks from now. Wear a mask. Stay home

I may have some heads-up news after my morning advisory conference tomorrow.

I'm already almost certain that masks for everyone is imminent.
    And wise.
Best just start now. If you have mask wear it in public. I Laredo even a re-purposed doo-rag is adequate.
