    Check this Harvard Gazette article.

Current degree of social distancing may perfectly efficacious to prevent ICUs from being overwhelmed.

But, the present course might excessively delay the herd immunity that must, by present thought, be achieved.

Intermittent social distancing into 2021 might become the optimum strategy until 12-18 months from now when (or if) we get mass vaccinations.

Thanks for the support I get here. If you've not guessed a lot of my background is public health and epidemiology, though I've currently followed a different rabbit hole professionally.
Just hoping to spread accurate info that is so hard to come by.
More doom and gloom keeps your boy Biden out of the news I guess.

Even with full Liberal support do you really think y'all can keep it going until November?

Glad to hear they can stay open.

Do you think they could still stay open if they didn't do all that business with the local city and county police, fire and ambulance services?

I'm not sure, but they are smart enough to read the actual wording of the orders and attack based upon that. In their case, a substantial portion of what they sell are cleaning products and the agencies that buy a lot of this just happen to be first responders. On the other hand, the bulk of their customers are small businesses who need the materials to stay alive and earn some money during this downturn

So about all these sick people... My pregnant wife had some pain and stuff most of yesterday, we finally called it in, and they said we should go to the hospital for observation (which showed everyone was healthy just a little sleep-deprived).

I've visited and worked in a lot of hospitals. I've never seen one that empty. I'd be surprised if I saw more than twenty people, most of them at a distance. We only interacted with about four people total.

So I don't think the texas medical center is full of covid19 patients.

    I've seen the same.

    Hospitals are bracing.
Texas is quite a favorable place to be relative to our national stage...still:
Predictions are 29 daily Texas deaths per 24 hours, one week from now.
Frighteningly, that prediction is 161 daily Texan deaths 5 weeks from now at the peak.

Stay safe and do not take unneeded risks with your body.
If you mis-step and screw up your knee or fall and injure a rotator cuff , what would normally be surgically corrected next week may, given present prohibitions on "elective" surgery not get attended to for months.

    Gunz are icky.
Not wholly unexpected. DoD frowns on commanders publicly airing their grievances.

Me thinks the good Captain is not guilty of wrongdoing here.
He alerted his superiors to an impending problem thru channels.
Some stooge saw it and let the info out. Probably some little commie bastard.
