On a more positive note, I saw this today when I stopped to pick up a pair of hair clippers so I can give myself my first attempted haircut. (Luckily I wear a hat most of the time)

Edit to add. I didn't buy any because I don't need any. I did text my baby girl to see if she needed any because she's got 3 girls of her own and that many females in one house can go through some toilet paper. She said she was good too.

I have been cutting my hair for over fifteen years now. The wife trims up the back for me. It's too hard.

Went to the grocery stores with the wife this afternoon, and it looked like with limits and reduced hours, it's coming back to some degree of normalcy, at least here.

The back is what I'm worried about too. I guess the good news is, not many folks are out to notice if I mess up. And if they do and they're female, I can always mention their roots since they're not getting that done either.

Not to be an I told you so asshole, I'm pretty much start at asshole sorry but a few facts.

Antibody tests are being rushed out, starting with medical staff. because without those none of the models mean anything.

Many Drs in NYC hospital have been taking the malaria drug prophylactically since the French reports of it working there.

Since then several countries and the us has had small trials that show it works to greatly reduce the effects of the virus versus those who dont get it.

Forgive me for mentioning china here but I do so to explain how they figured out this drug works. China found people already taking it didn't get the virus or were A symptomatic. Once they figured it out they tested it on others and got comparable results. This is how France and other European countries came to look at and try it.

An infectious Dr, this is from his mouth, who is treating many patients said he now treats all covid pt with this drug. Since then none have needed intubation who had at least 2 days of the drug. He said its statistical near improbability the results hes seeing to be coincidental or confirmation bias.

HE SAID GAME CHANGER THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE PANDEMIC.

I can in my ignorance call that very promising. The drugs are very promising, the antibody testing will provide actual data not tickle my prostate stupid numbers and the sky still has not fallen.

No one wants to get this. No one but this has to end or the world economy will collapse and cause much worse death and destruction than this illness.

Still 1.5 to 1.8 percent death rate. That is expected to drop to under 1 percent once antibody testing give accurate infection rates.

I'm sure someone will be along to tell us someone told them someone's sister said millions are dead and us ignant fools are science deniers.

What I've felt all along, without a way to test reliably and quickly exactly who has it and who don't, anything is a stop gap at best. And possibly do more harm than good. Until a treatment is found, absolute quarantine is the only way to stop it and without testing that is impossible.
The nice thing about these drugs, they are quick to make and cheap. Even if all they do is lessen the severity of symptoms they would change the whole picture. Especially if they can show they stop people, at least most people, from even having symptoms.
But that would require 100s of millions of doses. Start with the sickest, those at most risk and then everyone else until they have a vaccine.
It would be cheaper than what they are doing now.
