Likely to be an all day affair but with a committee chair more friendly to our cause than the dog and pony shows headed up by Joan Huffman.

Just a quick reminder that this hearing is not on a specific bill, so there is no stupid proposal that needs to be fought against. This is an opportunity to speak out in support of our rights, to let the good Senators hear how much you value gun rights and how they should go about protecting them. Three minutes isn't much time to speak, so pick one topic near to your heart and focus on it. Whether it is Constitutional Carry, ending Gun Free Zones, etc., be there and let your voice be heard.

I will be coming down 71 from the Llano area if anyone along that route needs a lift to the hearing. Hitting the road at zero dark thirty and staying until the party is over or maybe a bit longer if we grab a cold beer and a bite to eat after the hearing.

Some good talking points and data sources from Rachel Malone of the GOA for your testimony on Wednesday, 2/26/2020:

Would like to be there, but having recently gone under the knife I can't do the walking required to get from parking to the meeting.

Going to be a long, long day. The committee is now hearing the last of three invited panels on the subject of human trafficking, with public testimony to follow. After that, they start in on personal property protections, with both invited and public testimony. Eventually, they will get around to the important stuff. Public testimony has been cut from the announced 3 minutes down to 2 minutes. I guess I can use the waiting time to revise and consolidate my testimony.

A surprisingly unbiased news report on the hearing:

    https://www.kxan.com/news/texas-pol...on-licenses-to-carry-firearms-in-last-decade/

There may even be a short quote from a TGT member towards the end of the article.

The report doesn't mention one of the small highlights of the day. 2A supporters completely filled all available seats in the Senate chamber and the small (about a dozen) Demanding Mommies were relegated to seats in the gallery above the chamber.

    Thank you for doing this.

Appreciated but no thanks required, sir. It is a pleasure to be able to assemble with such a large group of fine citizens to seek redress of our grievances. Well, the long wait to speak for a whole two minutes does suck a bit but meeting and talking with other gun owners makes the hours fly by. It's like a day of conversation at a gun store or the range.

    Echo the appreciation.
