    Inspection/registration renewal is due by the end of the month. Walked around the car and noticed one of the license plate lights was out. Replaced both with LED ones. Topped off coolant.

    Why not start off with the amp clamp? No chance of blowing up a meter that way; not that I would know anything about that :laughing:
    Funny you should say... I am actually on my 2nd amp clamp that is going to get smashed to bits. Over 20 years of this career has reinforced that you need to test your test equipment. The amp clamp I have "matco branded" is only to be used to confirm if a draw is present. I just dont think it is accurate and consistent enough to actually diagnose. I was just talking to my snap on guy last week about one though. I am torn between a snap on or fluke. I use a bluepoint meter for most dirty work and a fluke meter when I need to trust the results. I actually cut open the side of my fluke meter to replace the glass barrel fuse with a standard 10A bus fuse. When it blows it is a one second swap.

    Yeah, that's true amp clamps aren't accurate to the milliamp scale.

    That's a good idea making your meter's fuse easily replaceable. It just occurred to be it would be pretty easy to make a test lead with an in-line fuse holder, too.

    It's got a stupid aftermarket alarm system that the PO put in. I need to figure out how to safely rip that thing out because I think it's draining the battery.

    Needed to change brake pads and figured why not do a complete upgrade...on the brakes, I've had the wheels for a bit.

    That thing has eaten brakes since I bought it (mainly due to the driver). I decided on the last pad change/rotor turn that if I had to do it again I would upgrade the rotors, pads and install new calipers. These rotors with ceramic pads work great, it stops like a sports car. I'm very happy with them so far. I spent a total of $80 more in total over what factory replacements from NAPA would have cost. Now we will see about longevity...

    Tried out a fluid transfer pump for an oil change. Not sure if I like it or not... Think I prefer my manual vacuum operated one. Perhaps it would be better if it was more powerful.

    Tried to change the distributor cap and rotor on my '95 GMC Sonoma. Got the old parts out with lots of trouble due to the very limited and cramped space. Almost got the new parts installed, but after an hour and a half of trying, couldn't get the last screw to line up on the distributor cap. Then I dropped the Torx driver and extension. Game over. It landed on the intake manifold somewhere. Screw it. Called a tow truck and hauled it the mechanic shop. Let them finish it. I'm getting to old for this shit
