I don't intend to do it again. I just got caught up in all the videos of people who had bought their Beretta 81's at Classic. They all seemed so happy.

You're right. I should have known better.

No problem. I did not want to seem like I was talking down to you, its just upsetting to see someone else get the short end of the stick again on these types of firearms sales. I have been burned by this selling method once before and have heard enough negative feedback from others about it that I will not attempt it again. These FFL's that do this need to change how they do business. Hopefully enough negative word gets spread around about this so they are forced to put more effort into being up front about every single firearm they sell.

I got my Beretta 81 from Classic Firearms on Friday. I am not happy with it. I wasn't even going to mention it. But, I think I'm over my temper tantrum now.

There is some minor pitting. But, the big thing is that I can barely rack the slide. That was the one thing that I had worried about with the 81. I can rack it. But, it takes several tries, and it hurts my hands sometimes.

But, like I said, I think I'm mostly past my temper tantrum. So, I'll go to the range with it and see how I feel about it then.
Are you pulling the slide straight back?

If so try racking it by pushing it. Right handed gun facing left, left hand on top pushing back toward your right hand if that makes sense. Right in front of your chest so you have more power.

Just be aware of what you are pointing it at including yourself.

That's how I have to do it. I can't rack it otherwise.

Who knows? Maybe it'll make my hands stronger. Good hand exercise.

Sure, they should import them, then sell them to dealers so you can pay twice as much as you could direct.

I had to go to the VA today for an MRI of my mid back. I've been having some problems there.

On the way home I decided to hit a pawn shop. I finally found one of my grail guns.

I've been looking for a decently priced Single Six for a long time. I found a 1981 model today for$280 out the door. It even had the WMR cylinder.

They also had a Single Six in .32 H&R Mag. That was tempting till I remembered I have a Single Seven in .327 Federal Mag.

I’d be interested in the 32, care to share the asking price?

You should investigate sending that back in to Ruger to be refurbished/blued. I have done this and the cost was minimal and they did excellent work. Mine came back with many replacement parts and looked brand new and unused, for about $80 IIRC.

I love my Single Sixes. I have 3. Would have bought that in a heartbeat.

Picked it up at Fountain Firearms this afternoon. The distributor portals on their website actually let me beat Gunbroker pricing by 'bout $50 after figuring in shipping and transfer.

So, I finally have a bolt gun for a centerfire cartridge.

Ordered this from a distributor for my own collection for well less than $200.00...so I thought why the heck not?

Zastava M70 7.65/.32 acp made in former Yugoslavia........trigger pull atrocious.....some rust out of the box........mag trigger disconnect.......and the weirdest rear sight arrangement I've ever seen.............

    Range report to follow..........

addendum: Range report.....shoots 24 inches high at 7 yards.......30 inches high at 10......I'll take the rear sight off and try again....it can't be any worse.....

Anyone selling these to a customer will be getting an earful on the rear sight...
I'll call my distributor tomorrow and let them know to prepare for complaints.............
