    NFA friendly I presume?

    Edit: Per your range rules:
No fully automatic weapon may be used on any range without explicit approval of the Range Master. Controlled rapid fire is authorized. The Range Master will determine whether rapid fire is safe.

So what criteria is used for approval or disapproval for select fire firearms?

    No .50 BMG........aw shucks......but I do get it....
Primarily we just need to know you and your course of fire. If we can, we want to figure out how to get to "yes", but it gets very case-by-case specific with automatic fire so we start with very restrictive rules and get more permissive...it's easier than trying to go the other way. Bottom line, come out and we'll see if we can make it work. Worst case scenario you spend a day on the range shooting other stuff.

Are range fees waived on the day you have to take the $30 class?
No, the safety and orientation class is a requirement for insurance purposes and is not connected to range fees. However, if you pay for four hours of shooting you get the rest of the day free, which offsets the price of the safety and orientation class.

Thank you for the response.....great attitude.......Don't care much myself for the testosterone sprayers.....even occasional mag dumps can and should be controlled fire.....

Unfortunately we do not. In the past we have found it is too difficult to verify someone who claims to be a veteran so we have had to implement a system of active duty only because they are able to provide a badge and/or an active duty ID card. At $150 annual membership and $10 per hour range fees (buy four hours get the rest of the day free), RPR Range is still less expensive than most places. Hope to see you out there.
My DL has my veteran designation, verified by using my DD214. That could be one way.

We have an outdoor range 10 minutes from me that charges by the hour, I lived here for over three years before I finally went. At least that one has no yearly fee.

Personally I’d rather pay an annual, or monthly, membership over an hourly rate. $25 daily rate is nice too. Been to a few with that. That feels like a good deal to most shooters and the ones that leave soon works out in the favor of the range.

    Howdy.

Yep, it's really tough asking for a DD214 (like Lowe's et, al) and keeping a record of it in a POS device in the digital age.

In light of those having served with the goal of preserving your right to run your business as you see fit, good thing they didn't consider that too "difficult", eh?

Not ringing your bell, just calling a BS excuse, IMHO, for what it is.

Hope to see to you as a Sponsor soon ...

    Karlac,

As a retired (28 years) and credentialed (retired ID holder) vet, I have to say, you need to chill out. No reason to give a small business owner in a tough field that grief. He's supporting our active duty folks, and I appreciate that.

So, is your orientation a video, or is it given by someone affiliated with your insurance company? How long is it.

$110 to shoot on the first day ( if you pay for 4 hours) seems a little on the high side for the average shooter.

    Greetings!

I just joined the group and I'm anxious to broaden my general knowledge of all things related to guns.

I am the director of Reveille Peak Ranch Range (RPR Range for short) in Burnet, Texas. We've been open for many years to military, law enforcement, and government organizations but we just recently opened to the public. Our website is https://www.rprrange.com

I have way too many gun related questions to try to fit them on one thread, but my biggest question at the moment is what is missing from the Texas shooting ranges? As we build and improve our range what can we offer that is needed in the shooting community?
Looks like my kind of place except to crowded is the picture representative of how busy you are? If I drive out there on any given Sat/Sun how likely is it that I will have to wait for a pit?

Have you compared it to other ranges that go out to a mile?

The hourly price isn't bad unless you shoot often. Getting a membership helps.

It is worth shopping around a bit if you shoot a lot though. I won't mention the name but the other close one is really going to make you gasp when you see the price for the first time you shoot.

These super long ranges have a hard time competing with the normal 100 yard ranges on price but if you want to shoot far you're going to have to pay.
