Does anyone have one of these? I’ve been looking at trading into one of these and wanted to see what everyone thought of these as a plinker.

    Thanks

Don't own one. Considered one as a 22 double-action option. Just a little pricey for what I want to use it for. Considering the Charter Pathfinder or the not yet on the market Taurus 942.

I don't buy that. I have thoroughly enjoyed shooting my Taurus 1911s (9mm). Not even a stove pipe in the many reloads and factory ammo I have shot through it. Don't know about their revolvers.
Ditto. I have used a Millennium Pro 9mm as EDC for years. Never had an issue and it eats any ammo I have tried.

I like the one I've supposedly got. It's been reliable so far, though that's only been about 6-700 rounds. Double action is fairly heavy with a semi long pull. The Single action is fairly crisp with just a bit travel and a touch of creep. Definitely gums up after a while, so a wipedown doesn't, or, wouldn't hurt after 75 or 100 rounds

It's ate all the Remington, CCI, and Aquila I've fed it without issue. Spent cases from all three have stuck in the cylinder on occasion, though that's usually after 70+ rounds through which I attribute to the ammo being dirty due to variance in location. I don't have the equipment to verify tolerance(s) either.

Accuracy is good for a teaching or plinking tool. and it's quite fun to shoot.

What I'm not a fan of though, is the grip is about 2 degrees off. I need to change my whole grip, grip angle, sight alignment, and trigger press to a different mindset for it. Even given those gripes about it, I'll still use it as a self trainer so I can reinforce the basics to myself. It makes me pay attention to, and concentrate on them.

With the above being said, I need to see if I can't find that spot it fell out of my canoe that one day.

OP, have you made a choice yet?

If not, I bought a Ruger LCR .22 in early December and so far have a bit over 2,000 rounds through it. Zero malfunctions of any kind. Nada. Zip.

It shoots right where its points, and the sights seem very well regulated for the ranges its used for. The trigger is heavy, but after 1,000 rounds it smoothed out very nice. It's actually a better trigger than my S&W 63 that I've had for a few decades. Butits a lot lighter and easier to carry and it does get carried almost every day.

I don't know what Byrd is talking about, there is no hammer for single action shooting, its a shrouded hammer design. The Hammer is internal. The LCRx has a external hammer but is too big for pocket carry. This gun is my carry gun so concealed carry is what I bought it for. Its so easy to get all 8 rounds off in a few seconds and with no recoil they all are on target.

I love my Ruger LCR .22. Get one, you won't regret it.

I'm interested to here how the ruger lcr is. I've been looking for a j frame. 22lr and havent seen one yet. Although I dont own or like polymer guns that much, I may tolerate a lcr in .22lr

I don't personally own one, but my father has the LCR in 357, and my brother has one in 38.

Have shot both pistols. Both are EDC pistols. They do their intended jobs. A lightweight carry. Not the most attractive, but it does seem solid.

Other than the heavy trigger in dual action mode, it's a delightful pistol. Mine is a 3" in 22 WMR and is more accurate than I am. it's a wonderful summer carry piece, it's so light. I've also got a .38 spl, 3 inch. Never had a single issue, of any kind, with either.

I enjoy my Ruger .22 LCR. Just what kind of malfunction are you going to have with a wheelgun anyway, right? Get you one. BTW, if you want to plink in single-action, get the LCRx, as it has the exposed hammer, three-inch barrel, and the same eight-shot capacity as the LCR.
