Recently took possession of this from a family member, from what I know he has owned it for 40 years.

What’s the value on these? It’s perfect.
How can I find out date of manufacture?

I figured it was about 40 years old.
That’s a long time, and to retain the box and the original stuff with it is pretty unique.

A number of years back, I gave my grandson the .22 *I* had been given for my birthday when I turned 12 (at that time, 47 years previously). I also gave him the owners manual, warranty card AND the original receipt from a (now defunct) wholesaler we used to buy from.

Nice gun! Call Smith & Wesson and after holding for about half an hour, a friendly but overworked customer service rep can let you know the year it shipped out.

There ain't much that can't be done with a Model 10. That's a nice 'un.

The rugged simplicity of it is nice. I will take it for a few spins and get proficient with it. It may end up as my nightstand gun. No safety, no magazines too jam. And 38spc is a man killer, lots of people died by that round. Hornady makes some nice affordable JHP.
