Several years ago I had my Feinwerkbau 124 rifle stolen. It was fully dressed out with the muzzle break/cocking handle, scope, and trigger shoe. It was a Beeman era gun.

I've been looking for a decent replacement every since. The 124 was accurate as all get out and hard hitting. It was a .177 rifle.

So, any ideas on a good replacement that won't break the bank?

I don't know what your definition of "breaking the bank" is so it's hard to ballpark it for you. I have an Air Arms TX200 which is about as nice a spring-piston rifle you can get and it's in the $650 range (although I bought mine used for $400). You can get a basic break-barrel starting around $150 and they go up from there. Quite a few good rifles in the $300-400 range.

Here's a list of the 0.177 spring-piston rifles from Pyramid Air for you to peruse...

Since you already are familiar with the armament-focused-forum-format, have a look around the AirGun Nation forums [ https://www.airgunnation.com/ ] You can search for other airgun fans, used airguns, articles, et cetera. Have fun! I am slowly building an airgun hobby as my wallet allows but I've chosen to focus on the Pre-charged Pneumatic (PCP) airguns with hunting capabilities.

There are a lot of other airgun-focused web forums, AirGun Nation is just the one I like best. Enjoy!

Maybe this is/was yours or maybe not but it could be yours: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/853225038

Coincidence, the seller is in TX.

I put 'em on my barrels frequently to extend their length to comply with ATF rules
