Bringing this subject up again because I just got one of my Nagant revolvers back from ADCO with a threaded muzzle.(1/2 x 28)

    I wanted a 14 x 1.0 LHThread (SKS/AK size) but the barrel is too small so the 1/2 x 28 it is!!!

I also ordered a threaded barrel for one of my CZ vz83 in 9 x 17 (380) that is 1/2 x 28 from the DEALER WAREHOUSE.

The plan is to pay the $200 tax stamp and get a muffler.
I am leaning towards a Liberty Mystic X so I can get a few adapters for various firearms/calibers in my collection.

I have a few HK91/PTR 308s and many SKS/AKs that already have muzzle brakes/flash devices.

I don't know anyone with a suppressor so I am on a 'learning-curve' about all the forms and ATF procedures.

I do have a LTC & FFL03 so I am sure there will be no 'red flags' concerning background and I am aware of the yearlong wait but there are arguments about individuals and TRUSTS.

Just need more info about filling out the proper forms.

I bought 4 Nagant revolvers years ago but I gifted 2 to family members (Christmas presents).

They were $99 each at the time and I guess I should have bought more?
Did not realize they were going to sell for $500 to $1000 on GunBroker.

Like Mosins, there is a wide range of Nagant revolvers on the market with a wide range in prices! I too wish I had bought more back when they were "cheap!"

A "standard" Nagant M1895 used to run about $125 (as my 1939 Tula did) whereas they go for about $250-350 these days. My 1915 Tula "Peter the Great" only cost me $150, but is going for two to three times that amount or more now.

Here is a good run-down of the different varieties of Nagant revolvers...

Again, like their rifle cousins, the M1895 is an interesting pistol with a great history! Suppressing one is an wonderful project!

I saw that video a few times over the last few years. She cannot fire it double action.

One of my Nagants is much easier double action than the other.
I might try the spring sanding method of reducing the hammer tension.

The Dealer Warehouse vz83 threaded barrel arrived and it looks GREAT.

I got the barrel pin removed so I will turn some brass 1/2" round stock in my lathe to remove the barrel with my press from the vz83 'guinea-pig' frame.

Made a bunch of caliper measurements so it should press out and new back in.

One thing I noticed was the significantly different barrel twist rate.
The new barrel has a much 'slower' twist than the original.

Any one know the vz83 original twist rate?

The rifled part of the barrel is 3" so I will try to determine the twist difference in inches. (not that it matters, I can't change it)

The barrel pin is .086" (2.018mm) so I ordered a .085 end mill to put the pin in place in the new barrel.

I'll have a LOOONG time to setup threaded barrels before the ATF processes my tax stamp application so I will find more in my collection to make ready.

Got it done today. .085 4 flute end mill to fit the barrel pin. Set the head space exactly as the original barrel.

They are not really a press fit because you can use a brass drift to move the barrels easily.

(still waiting on my Liberty Mystic X to arrive)

If anyone needs a Beretta M-71 with a 1/2-28 barrel (instead of the 1/2-20), the adapter fits fine. I bought it and thought I would have to make the adapter but I found this.

    TRY IT!!!
