Some places require their employees to input a birth date for such purchases. The wife still smokes and any time I purchased for her at DG they ask my date of birth. I got a lot of gray hair so there ya go!

I still see them occasionally at the boobie bars.:D
Heck we used to be able to buy them at Sonic a few decades ago. Stricter Enforcement from money hungry >GOV types is why these policies came to be, I can only relate what employees have said. sorry that's all I've got.

No cigar straw purchases allowed in your store....

That's funny he mentioned it. I went in to buy cold medicine at a Walmart the other day. While I was looking for the one my wife wanted, the clerk asks me if I know what I want. Still looking for the kind the wife wanted I say out loud, "I don't know which one she wants." The lady says, "oh sorry, I can't sell it to you then, she will have to come in for it." :spank:

Now, if the info at the link in my above post leaves any doubt as to whether or not the government was responsible for all the looney store policies about asking for ID and such to purchase smokes, go to this page and look at the answers to the questions posed there: https://comptroller.texas.gov/taxes/tobacco/faq-reg.php

I have concluded that TX politicians are, at least in some regards, just as fucked up as those in NY.

DG definitely did this. I rarely entered in someone's actual birth date though. If their ID was valid and they were of age, I would just enter in a random date that was relatively close to their age. The only time I entered in the actual date is if they were barely over the legal age to buy cigs (we didn't sell alcohol at my store).

With liberal fucktards from every blue state pouring into Texas we should have pt a cap on moving here long ago!
Damn, in that case I may have wound up trapped in NY or maybe would have had to relocate to TN but I assure you, I am no liberal in any sense of the word. I am Libertarian leaning toward conservatism but most assuredly not liberal. Then again, I find many folks today - even those who consider themselves to be staunch conservatives - have no idea what it means to be conservative or what it is they are supposed to be conserving. Government truly is the problem, at least in its current state of being the equivalent of a tyrannical nanny.

Is it any different than Walmart or Academy wanting my ID when I buy ammo? I’m in my later fifty’s and handsome though I may be (LOL!), I sure don’t look 17!

Nobody at Academy has asked me for my ID when buying ammo. I guess it’s because I look old and tired
