I have decided to sell one of my prize firearms. The attach link will give you an idea of what I am selling. Unfortunately Colt's photography does not do justice to the incredible finish these firearm have.
My Gold Cup has had 50 rounds down the pipe. Just enough to make sure it operates correctly. These are really nice firearms.
I am 71 years old and am not really comfortable with the recoil of a 45 ACP handgun.
I had rather it be with someone who will enjoy it, than in my gun cabinet.
Colt recently reissued this firearm. If you know 1911s then you know the Gold Cup is the top of the line in Colt's production of 1911s.

I see this firearm is listed from a low or around $1,150 to a high of $1,250 on the internet. I would take $1,000 for mine. I have the factory box, paperwork, and accessories.
If you want a truly nice 1911, this is one. I will provide actual photos to those interested.
This could be a "Merry Christmas to Me" moment for someone out there.
(p.s.-people who have bought from me in the past can vouch for the quality of items I sell.)

    Colt recently reissued this firearm.
This is a new release Series 70 Gold Cup.
The old 1970s Series 70 Gold Cups were the best Colt ever made. After those, Colt started to let the "bottom line" dictate the production quality of the Gold Cup as well as all of the other Colt 1911s. Their overall quality fell drastically.
This new release goes back to the production techniques that made the 70s Gold Cup the success it was.

No interest ,so I will close this ad.
Too bad, this is a truly great pistol.
I have had a chance to own both a pre 70' Gold Cup and this one. The manufacturing quality is very nearly the same. Much better than Gold Cups made in the late 70's and up until this reissue.
