A LOT more tables and variety. And it wasn't just row after row of brand new guns either. Now, you can sweep a row in half a minute, yup, sea of Glocks to the left, sea of Rugers to the right, next! There was also "pre owned" guns, used ones, old ones, vintage ones, antique ones (if you know what I mean by that differentiation). Although I realize much of that WW2 vintage stuff as disappeared from the market.
You could actually chat with knowledgeable vendors, too! Now many might as well sell chicken nuggets or used cars instead.
Also, you could count on some famous/infamous person making an appearance every now and then. I've met Bo Gritz and Randy Weaver, Boston T. Party (Kenneth Royce), John Ross, and many others at gun shows. And I mean met, as in hung out with and chatted for a while, not just gawked at them from afar, lol.

You are right. Dallas show has gone downhill. I am a WWII Axis pistol collector. Back in the 70's and 80's I built a collection. Now it is black guns , jingle bobs, and doo dads. Last week I went and did some good with some fellow collectors I have dealt with for years and years. I found a nice WWII Navy Beretta 1935 and a nice WWII Femaru M37. Thats the best I have done at Market Hall in last couple of years. The Dallas Arms Collectors will be moving their show sometime in 2020 to Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas. I hope this will generate some interest and revive this show. Dallas Arms Collectors has some great members and I know they want to keep this show.

DAC is a joke! They ruined their own venue by allowing non firearm related commercial vendors to purchase tables to sell flea market items. A gun show isn't a venue the public pays $10.00 a head to see crap they can see at Traders Village for free. Not to mention, go to a Ft. Worth gun show ? $10.00 to park, $ 8-10 to get in the door & after you buy a soda or bottle of water you've spent $ 25.00. I remember the days pre-1989 when DACA Market Hall show was twice a year and the hall was filled all the way back to the over hang at the east end of the hall. Those were the days when Nick Tilotta dba Western Firearms had the last island across from the south wall covered with Class 3 machineguns, a whole island of tables, vendors like Tolitta don't exist at gun shows today. DACA & HGCA were two of the best of the best shows in Texas and after the demolition of the Houston Astrodome HGAC went down hill as well. Promoters are faced with higher rental costs, higher advertising costs and insurance etc. When is the last time you attended a show and there was a (ND) ? ND is a negligent discharge of a firearm.

I miss the old days at Market Hall. So many vendors I considered friends are now gone or passed away that I don't have the desire to go to any local gun shows anymore.

Who knows what is going on. I may go on Sunday just to see what everyone has been saving up with no shows to sell at. DACA made it into a flea market but Premier came up with the idea. I've never been to one of their shows where at least 10-25% of the tables were flea market, solar panels for your house etc.

Then again maybe I'll just skip it period.

I plan on going on the 20th. I went to the Premier show in North Richland Hills this past weekend, it was busy! Got there about 5 mins to 9am, and waited in line until 9:30 to get in. There had to be 500 people in line by the time I arrived. Lots being purchased.

This used to be THE show to go to. Right after Turkey Thursday, show ran 3 days, line to enter wrapped around the building, etc. Lots of money changed hands. I went in 2018 and was so disappointed.

I'm ok walking past jerky and other random booths if it means we can still browse in a free market with like-minded Texans.

Are they as good as yesteryear, not really. Heck, @Pmena2, I've been to better shows in Commiefornia than out here; however, we should support these shows when we can.

Save a couple bucks and buy your ticket online. Walk a couple miles around the tracks and smell some of that freedom.

In my former hometown of San Diego, shows are literally banned. So, as a Texan now, I go to these shows whenever I can.

The same group is doing Conroe and Pasadena. I'll be at the Conroe show next weekend, Let you know how it goes.

Hopefully the cool/good stuff didn't all get gone in Dallas!

Have an email, Dallas Arms Collector's gun show at Southfork Ranch August 8 & 9. 400 tables and they're still charging $10 admission. Maybe it will be mostly firearm related but not counting on it.

Premier Gun Shows Dallas Market Hall August 29th & 30th. Saturday was asshole to elbow walking room down the isles, it was a buying show for dealers & vendors. My partner bought 4 nice walk around AR's including a Palmetto State Armory .300 Blackout. The guy said he bought it new & he never fired it, he thought it was a 5.56 but after further inspection it said right on the barrel .300 Blackout and it had a nickle boron BCG, needless to say we snatched it up for $ 750.00 with 2 Magpul M2 mags in the wrapper. One of the other excellent buy's was a excellent A+ clean Bushmaster carbine, Windham Ma. manufacturer for $ 700.00.

How was the Dallas Arms Collector's gun show at Southfork Ranch August 8 & 9 ? A friend who sells AR parts said the crowd was there but the vendors were slim. There wasn't the usual flea market crud there, it was all firearms related but slim on the vendors due to Covid 19.
