My Ruger SP101 has some pretty crude sharp edges around the trigger guard and a couple other spots. Was thinking about taking on dehorning it myself. Is there any good videos or references on doing this?

If this seems to risky I may just send it to a gunsmith to have some work done on it. Any here in Texas?

    Thanks!

Depending upon how "handy" you are and how much experience you've had with a file, etc., it could be easy or difficult. Is it stainless or blued?
Once it's screwed up, it's difficult to fix. I'd bet someone with experience could do it for you very reasonably. If you have experience with those types of tools you could probably do OK as long as you go slow.

It is stainless. I am familiar with a file for sure. However, I fell you on the once it is screwed up it is hard to fix idea. I did not think of contacting Ruger. I will give that a go. I did look around today and found a local gun smith that said they can do it no porblem. Going next week to see how much they will charge.
