Never let your life depend on cheap weapons or parachutes...

That said, I've had nothing but good experiences with Taurus pistols minus a 1980s vintage .38 revolver that I inherited.
In the military, everything is made by the lowest bidder

If it goes bang when you pull the trigger and hits the target.......

True, but it has to meet minimum requirements before the government will accept it, so it's not like being the lowest bidder dictates the quality of the equipment being acquired. There are many other factors involved.

If that were truly the case, the US military would be carrying AK-47s as they are a lot cheaper and easier to acquired than the M-16...and go bang when you pull the trigger and hit the target!

My life is worth more to me than some "cheap" semi auto.
I am not a big Glock fan. Never have been, but I carry a Gen 4 G19 in my car because I know it will always go bang. If I put ammo in it that is.
Save your money and buy something reputable and well liked.
This is coming from a long time 1911 collector and shooter.

Maybe he wanted his footprint scrubbed from here because he was really looking for a disposable gun here...
