Did you try dropping the bolt using the hold open as opposed to pulling the charging handle?

It may just need a bit more speed to rip them out. If that works it should loosen up with use.

Thanks! Seems to be loosening up. I could get the first round in last night when I did that, but second didn’t want to go in. Just threw in a mag with 5 rounds in it, released the bolt, and then used the charging handle to cycle through and all 5 rounds fed in and ejected properly.

I did a fair amount of research, and C Products 7.62x39 AR mags were the ones with the best record by far. Saw a fair number of complaints about other brands.

A bunch of worrying about nothing!! Took it to the range and never had one failure to load or light primer strike!! I even bought a 20 pack of good ammo when I got there in case I had issues I could change ammo and see how that did. Never opened the box. I only had time to run one box of the steel cased Wolf through it, but never had an issue. I threw a Vortex Sparc on top and it shot fantastic. I’m going to build a lower specifically for it this week with an enhanced firing pin and hammer spring.

It works fine with metal magazines I had a ProMag Polymer laying around that didn't work at first. A minute of looking and a few minutes with a small file and its all good now.

I’ve got a cheap PSA A2 upper I got a few years ago on sale for $199 with bcg and ch. I was going to swap out the gas block for to add a 13.5” rail. I swear psa used an 800# gorilla to press the pins in. I couldn’t get them to Budge so out can the dermal and off went to front sight post. I use the upper Every weekend with. Photon RT digital night vision scope to shoot pigs with. With 10 round ACS mags I’ve had Zero issues, with ant ammo I’ve tried.

Time to dig up an old gun thread. Even though it's been a few years - I really appreciated the info you guys gave on here (yes Cam, I actually used the search function.) Had a lower laying around and thought I'd put a 7.62x39 upper on it. Thanks for the info on the mags - the funny thing is I can't tell any difference between them and my 6.5 Grendel mags - good for me, more mags. Got an el-cheapo side charger upper from Bear Creek - the thing ran great. Took it out on its virgin voyage today. It's a hoot to shoot!

I built this 7.62x39 around a Bear Creak DUAL charge upper. It’s side charge on the left and has a traditional rear charge.

    Luth-AR MB4 stock

    Primary Arms scope and mount.

Leapers UTG Recon Flex Bipod. I really like this. Each piece is separate and mounts to the Mlok or keymod holes on the handguard.

The most interesting part, the lower is an ATI Polymer. And looks and works great!!

    10 round C-Products magazine for 7.62x39.

The paint is Brownells FDE. (I painted it.)

Bear creek has checked out when I looked at all the rifles I have. And they shoot alright. I want a side charger in 450 bm.

Bca is good, unless you want them to cut a real 5.56 chamber, or have their employees get through an immigration checkpoint
