ShootSmart Membership?

I am looking to get a membership at a gun range in the northern DFW area. ShootSmart is one of the top contenders. Anyone have any insite on their memberships? Or memberships at another range? I'd prefer something closer to Denton, but all the close ones are ridiculously overpriced.

I am a member at ShootSmart and I really enjoy that range. The staff is great and always greet people. They have private suites that which you can draw from a holster and rapid fire. They also offer private lessons and classes. If you would like to meet up and check it out then let me know.

Where dat at? I dont waste much ammo shooting at paper but I got Arkie kin who show up wanting to do it occasionally. Silly gooses over there huh?

Been a member at Shoot Smart for several years. Do not know of a better range in the area. I suspect the range in Lewisville is also good and is closer but it is "just a range" where ShootSmart offers a more friendly "family" environment and activities.

Not a member but I have been to shootsmart and it was awesome. Also take a look at Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville which is another good indoor range that is very close to Denton.

I lived in Denton for a year and Eagle Gun Range is where I would go to most of the time

I’m retired so I have their Happy Hour membership. $7.00 for a regular lane T-W-T, a really good deal for me. I also took my LTC class there, bought a gun, and had them do two transfers. Good people!

ShootSmart is a great range…. I live in Dallas and have made the drive over there many times. There is however, a new range in Dallas that opened I believe in February of this year… It is called Lake Highlands Shooting Center and is located at 10757 Mapleridge Drive… Their rates and memberships are quite reasonable and the owners are very nice. I signed up for the family membership just this week.

Wife and I have been shooting at Shoot Smart for several months as part of a work sponsored club. Pretty good place with knowledgeable staff.

I am a member of Frisco Gun club. Their range is pretty good. It has plenty of pistol space and 3 100 yard lanes. I really like their environment.

I also agree. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They will rent out classrooms to instructors who want to teach LTC or other shooting classes. They will let those instructors bring their students to the range before it opens to the public for shooting requirements of their classes (or LTC qual).

I am 100% in agreement about Shoot Smart being a great range. However, the membership 2.0 that they have started seems to increase the cost to $40 per month for almost the same arrangement that was much cheaper in the previous membership plan. Also, as of last weekend the Shoot Point Blank in Lewisville is now open. For free unlimited weekdays range use for $20/month. If you want both weekdays and weekends then $40/mo. It does not have the "private suits" that Shoot Smart has but the rest of the services/classes/range are the same or better than Shoot Smart. For people in Denton, the difference in distance is also an important consideration. So, there is now some competition for the Denton area that was not present before.

You might want to check out Defender Outdoors, near downtown FW.

I live in Euless and Eagle Gun Range is the only place I go. Excellent prices and cheap rentals with nice selection if you want to try out a particular model.
