To the guy that was discussing the Kimber, the mags., and the break-in, I apologize to you. And anyone else that was in that conversation. I remembered incorrectly about the mags. that Rock Island was having issues with, it was "Metalform" magazines.

Ben, as for your pics, please do post. I'm sure there will be something in there that somebody never got to see.

Kalena, thanks for coming out, I enjoyed meeting you. And don't feel like the lone red ranger, sun got me pretty good as well.

It was previously mentioned that the area and range are due to proximity of people in the triangle of the three major cities. Even with that some had a pretty good drive.

Is there a number of hours folks are willing to drive? For those that don’t drive too far, what would that number be that would make it too far?

For those west Texas boys, would another hour or so for a better range be too much?

Got to thinking about what Dawico said about previous meets and some of the fun that was had. If there was a range that would allow it, or someone’s deer lease that could be used, what is the point it’s not worth the extra fun?

I drive 2 hours and its fairly easy. If it was farther/even the same, in the spring mamma and I came up Fri night and stayed at the hotel. Im good with that.

Seems that Josh/Jimmy (maybe ER) were in the 5 hour range and thats a big ask, but for even more fun I would entertain 3-5 hours. Instead of a day trip it becomes a weekend getaway. No problemo.

Or spring on one side of the state and fall on the other.

No problem at all. It's fairly evident I had a lot bigger issues to worry over than that. If you still have 'em come Spring, remind me, but, the odds are I will have forgotten by then too.

I left at 3am to get there early, but then sleep is overrated.

That said, for future planning, anyone stay in a motel they can recommend in the area that was reasonable and might fit that bill?
I stayed at the Best Western in Copperas Cove. It wasn't in the best area but it wasn't bad. The hotel was reasonably clean and cheap. It was 10 minutes from the range. I'll stay there again in the future.

Note, though, that my standards are low. I've stayed in so many hell-holes over the years that I just don't put much emphasis on hotels being nice. I'm sure many folks around here would not have liked it.

Oh, and they don't allows pets of any kind. Period.

I enjoyed meeting everybody and wasting everyones ammo. Thank you for having me. If any of you are in the pearland area and want to exercise your rights a bit, I will gladly drag you out to PSC to do a little volunteer work planting some freedom seeds.

Well, it's ~3.5 hours for me, though it took me 5.5 hours this time. I was on the road for an hour before I realized I had forgotten my CPAP machine so I had to go back home for it. Life sure is harder when you do stupid things. :)

As for your question, I'll start to balk at a 6 hour drive and if it's 8 or over I'll probably pass.

Thanks for another great outing TGT! Kudos to EZE for cooking LOTS of meat on a small grill and all who provided, Dawico for the raffle, Moonpie 10mm revolver and Robert Canuk competition. Darkpriest May have got another one. Great to see everyone. Great weather with a hint of sunburn. I look forward to the Spring meet.

True, Houston would be out of the question for me.
