Nope. You fail at humor.Either that, or a bunch of cranky old men take the internet too seriously
At least 5 members thought you were serious. Nobody responded as though you were joking. Lots of people post BS claims on here, I just assumed you were another one.
Some also claim humor when backed into a corner...
Yes, because i really belive that a tapco'd sks is banned in 32 states.
Got me there, dead to rights
Do I need to add some emojis? Is that what it takes to get the point across? Are you that dense?
Things like this is why the internet sucks now.
At the very least, I'm not suggesting people get a tapco-****ed SKS
Thats illegal in 32 states, including Texas, FYI.
Or, it could be, that there is a little nugget of truth to your post( although I am sure you were completely oblivious to it) in that altering an SKS can remove it from being C&R eligible and force it into 922 compliance.
The fact is your post came across like so many others that are posted by folks that only read the first paragraph of a law then squawk like hens about “ That’s illegal” when they don’t actually have a clue to what they are talking about.
I bubba'ed a red-brown fiberglass stocked Norinco, personally... Chopped the barrel to 16", recrowned it, threaded it, screwed on a 3-prong flash hider, replaced the rear sight with a short picatinny rail, and mounted a Sig Romeo 5.I have one like that and bought it already bubba'd. It's fugly as hell but still shoots great. I really like the look of a factory wood stock but it just doesn't fit me right for some stupid reason.

Shoots more precisely now than before and I like it; nobody else needs to... It's still nowhere near the equal of the least of my AR's in most any category I can think of, except maybe as a deer gun... For home defense or SHTF, or as a political statement, I'd rather have an AR. View attachment 188171
When you make a statement that looks and sounds like a fact I want to know the cites. I figured it was a BS statement but you never know. The catch line adding a Tapco stock made it illegal.
You seriously need to work on your sense of humor and sarcasm writing. It lacks.
To make sure I remembered correctly, just brought the rifle to my shoulder a couple dozen times; my natural shoulder and cheek weld puts the dot at the lower third line of the tube consistently. I can see how, if the sight sat a half inch higher, it would be a problem. This works just fine though. How's the Romeo line up for you? The SKS I bought came with a Scout Mount on the gas block and I tried mounting my Vortex Sparc II there. Even with the lowest riser, the RDS was so tall I had to have a chin weld to see it. I took the mount off and just went back to iron sights.
Good summary. One note you can get the vepr and saiga in a variety of calibers including 5.56So, to sum it up, if one must have a traditional rifle stock, in 5.56 we have the following autoloaders:
1. Kel-Tec SU-16A,B,CA
2. Ruger Mini-14 with factory stocks
3. FightLite SCR (former Ares SCR)
4, H&K SL-6 - extremely rare and expensive
In 7.62x39 we have:
1. Mini-30
2. Izhmash Saiga
3. (Kovrov/Molot) Vepr - very rare, most came with thumbhole stocks
3. Various SKS
In addition to auto-loaders, you can have a number of bolt actions such as CZ-527, a lever action like Henry Long Ranger, or a pump action like Remington 7615.
The above omits all the thumbhole stock models, which are not held at the same angle as a traditional bolt-action rifle (e.g. no H&K SL-8).
It's just a damn good rifle.
And ammo is cheap.
