    Morning all.

Good advice on all the cars. Was in the car business many moons ago.

EZ-E's advice on new. Dawico's method on used. (everyone else was on track too)

Dawico's method is how I bought my last two vehicles. Both right around ~19K miles and about 3 years old.

I swore I wouldn't buy new again. toddnjoyce slapped some sense into me yesterday.

Learn to walk away, never settle for the price they want. My last truck (used) I bought, I walked away three times until they got it down closer to my price, and then I told them to throw in the extended warranty and it's a deal.

Pretty much the way I do it too. Being out in the middle of nowhere, yet centrally located to the metropolis's, I utilize Ebay to shop around. Set my area, DFW, Hou, BCS, Aus, and check the BIN prices, found what I wanted and boom. Done.

    Morning.

I had a friend years ago (now deceased) who before retiring was in new car sales and up to owning a dealership his entire life. After retiring he let it be known if one of us wanted a new/used vehicle let him know and he would go along for the negotiating. He did it for fun. He knew every trick in the book and loved the haggling. He was fun to watch.

Don’t be afraid to shop for new cars online. Lots of dealers will be happy to ship you the car or fly you in to get it. I saved $21k off msrp on my last truck. It was brand new. They paid for my flight and my hotel room. I originally found the truck on EBay!

Yup, bought my Silverado (noted above) from a dealer in Michigan, had it shipped to me...was significantly cheaper than buying local.

But I get how some folks are uneasy buying a car sight-unseen.
I’ll only do it for new or CPO.
