I have a couple of older ATNs. I had a problem with the 1st one and called them and shipped it back. Finally got it back and it was still not 100%. I have not used the newer one but everything worked on it. One problem I had is when it sat up for a while the first one had a problem turning on. Haven't tried the newer ones.

I have both the ATN X-Sight Pro and a Sightmark Photon. The ATN confuses the shit outta me. Too many gizmos. The Sightmark is simple and reliable and has a better image at night (at least to my old eyes.) The Sightmark also uses standard 30mm rings to mount.

I was looking at the Sightmark Wraith as well.

I have the 4K pro and have been pretty happy with the performance. It’s way beyond the first 2 versions.

The IR light that comes with it is junk so you’ll need to plan on getting one of better quality for use beyond 50-100 yards.

The video recording quality tends to be a little below what you see through the eyepiece.

    Battery life is amazing.

Internal ballistic calculator has been accurate in my limited use and testing. I tend to set it at the distance I expect to shoot and leave it since I haven’t used it for anything where I would have time to fiddle with it before shooting.

I can’t say if the recoil activated video works. My AR is built heavy and doesn’t have enough recoil to activate it.

You have to be careful of your light hitting nearby objects. It can cause the background to darken.

It’s heavier than most scopes. Not a big deal for my use but if you plane to carry it it could be a negative.

Last time I used it rabbit hunting I was spotting bunnies much further out than we were able to with spotlights.

The live view function that connects and sends the viewfinder image to my iphone has never worked. Not a big deal generally but it was handy with the X sight 2 when I took my daughter hunting.

It’s a winner in my book. Couldn’t be much happier with it.

Some daytime video shot at 50 yards during a big hunt.

Mine has the 5X optical zoom.

    Quick update

Checked and found a firmware update for the Pro 4K.

It fixed the issue with seeing the viewfinder on a phone or tablet screen. This really isn’t a big deal most of the time but it is great for hunting with my daughter since I can see what she sees. Especially at night when I can’t see what’s out there.

She can have full control of the rifle and I can monitor everything and give advice.

Not sure what else was updated. That was he only thing that had bugged me.

Yet just by having the software and using it, it looks like Apple (Google if you have Android) may have to turn over your name and other info to the DOJ. See here.

    I’m aware.

It seems the gov is throwing a very broad net in what appears to be an investigation in to ITAR violations.

They already have my name on their lists for suppressors and SBRs. I’m not too worried about them knowing I have an app. Although I am concerned about their methods considering they could easily only request data on individuals outside the US.
