I found one of these at Academy that had burnt bronze cerakote. I asked if they would price match Grab A Gun. Academy was $300 and GaG was $280.

Academy refused so Monday I ordered one from GaG. It took my order four minutes to go from accepted to ready to pick up.

I wandered over that way yesterday and picked up my new pistol.

I've gotta say that Canik has raised the bar on full sized service pistols. The trigger on this is damn good for an out of the box poly framed gun. It feels good in the hand and I really like those sights. The rear is a Warren U notch and the front is a white dot.

This ran me right at $302.02 out the door. It only comes with one mag, that's ok for me as my SFX mags will fit just fine.

IMHO Canik has out Glocked Glock. Even with the full kit this pistol runs $357 out the door at GaG. Glock can't or won't even come close to this price point, nor does a factory Glock have a trigger like this. The Canik even comes with steel sights VS plastic sights on a Glock.

This is a Glock 17 sized pistol and it holds one more round than a G17.

I'll get it to the range no later than Saturday, I have no doubt that it's going to shoot well.

Good deal! I refuse to do business with the Academy (firearms only) near me simply because they are pricks. This was the store that was doing background checks even if you had a LTC. I think they quit because of the bad publicity they got but never the less they will never get my business in the firearm department. Has my friend Hoji would say.....PHUCK EM!!

They only match other brick and mortar stores. Of course they were already cheaper than all the other ones any way. I'll do business with Academy over GAG if the price is that close. GAG charges tax since they're in TX and then shipping of $8 then you have your transfer fee. I don't see how the transfer fee and $8 shipping came out to less than the Academy price $20 more. I guess that's the convenience of going to pick it up. I'd probably be in trouble if I lived close to them. I get an email from them everyday that has stuff in it I want.

If you pick it up at the Coppell store, there's no transfer fee or shipping. It's just the state tax. But you need to be in the DFW area to take advantage of that. In general their prices are usually better though. It's close enough that I can pick up an order during lunch. It's a real effort not to buy more.

I had a TP9SF Elite Combat. I don’t have it anymore but I really liked that gun. I think the reason I got rid of it was the fact that it was the same size as a Glock 19 and I already had one 19. What I will say is that the trigger was the best out of the box I had had experience with. And if you shoot to the reset you can fire as fast as you can pull your finger. That reset is unbelievably short

Nice gun. While its fun to call everything a glock killer, or to say that gun X has out glocked glock, you have to ignore what all glock offers, things like GSSF pricing, direct product support, and generally very good customer service.

Thats on top of a pistol, that while may not be perfect at any one thing, is well above average in every aspect.

And while its always cool to have a nice trigger, that can hurt more than it helps.

Am I the only person who has never needed to contact customer service for any of my guns? I'm just thinking that that's never even been a consideration for me when buying a gun

Lucky you, but crap happens, and when it does, not having to deal with some clown that hates you is very nice.

Deal with bad CS once, and it'll most likely be the very first thing you consider.

Fwiw, I've never *needed* to use Glocks CS, but they've been very polite and answered the various questions I've asked them, and the one time I used them to install night sights, they got it done very fast, and gave me a bunch of free parts.
