If you ever have to go in front of her you should wear a confederate flag shirt. Gays are more dangerous to society than rebels.

    Inspector43,

More to the point, we scions of "The Old Rebel Families" are quite unlikely to be a source of contagion for several difficult to treat STD or to insist that anyone else "appreciate" and/or "approve of" our beliefs.

It's not about their existence in society. It's about the display of something that at best is something not germane to the court's proceedings and at worst an admitted influence in them.

I do not agree. That flag has no business in the courtroom whatsoever!
    X 100

If that flag is ok, how about when I get elected I have my own flags, "Don't Tread on ME (AR Flag) my Confederate flag, what would be wrong with that...BECAUSE it does not belong there and like LGBTQXXX??? flag it tells me you have a preset notion on how you will rule, you will make law from the bench!

So, if you're heading to 'it's' court room and you're a straight, white guy - wear a dress, high heels, ear rings, bangledy bracelets,
smear on some makeup, eyeliner, lipply-stick, lots of perfume and declare yourself 'a tranny wimmin'.

You'll not only win your case, but will probably get some sort of reward for being a ''pioneer"........

Justice needs to be blind. That flag clearly says someone is biased.

What if the flag was a confederate battle flag?

You would be against that as well because justice needs to be blind, right?

Justice is never blind. No judge is unbiased.

As I see her flying that flag, I see a liability for justice, specific cases getting thrown out because of her obvious bias displayed.

    --------------------------------

I can't find any state law stipulating who flags cannot be flown in a Texas court, or how the court may or may not be decorated.

There is actually a book called, "The Art of Law" that discusses the history of the decoration of courtrooms through the ages.

Yeah...no. Displaying an indication of political affiliation or adherence to a social cause in the courtroom is in poor taste, and would lead me to seriously doubt her ability to run an impartial court. Would they let a Jewish judge put a Star of David on the wall behind her? Could a judge even put a POW/MIA flag behind herself? I rather doubt that would fly with the powers that be in San Antonio. Let her fly whatever flag she wants at home, plaster her car with whatever bumper stickers, but the courtroom is NOT her venue for her personal beliefs.

I agree. Regardless of what the queer community wants to say about it, the flag is solely a symbol of one's sexual proclivities. It has nothing to do with the court and the administration of law as both the U.S. and Texas flags do. But no one of consequence will say or do shit and it will be allowed to go on.
There is something inherently wrong with a lifestyle or organizational belief when one has to announce it constantly to the society and the world.

Anyone know if her seat is an elected or appointed one?
If elected, then she has helped us all figure out who else to vote for.
If appointed, she has helped us to vote against the nimrod who appointed her.

According to Article 5, Section 15 of the Texas Constitution, a judge in a county court "shall be well informed in the law of the state." The constitution doesn't require that a judge in a constitutional court have a law license.

A statutory county court judge must be at least 25 years old and a resident of the county for at least two years prior to election. In addition, a statutory county court judge must be a licensed attorney who has practiced law or served as a judge for at least four years prior to election as a statutory county court.

My take is a little different. In the most pure and ignorant and optimistic interpretation, I'll say that the rainbow flag that stands for homosexuality is just that. Homosexuality is just sexual attraction. It's not political (although 99% are dems). It's not religious (although it violates most religions tenants). As such, it's different than the confederate flag or a religious flag. It's not a Hillary sticker, or a Harris 2020 banner.

Having said that, why in the hell would someone want to mention or boast about their sexuality in a court room? If you want to have "art", or brighten up a room, then maybe do so with actual art. Maybe even art from a lesbian artist. But I don't think the advertisement of your sexuality is appropriate in a courtroom. Can I wear a clever double entredre shirt that says "I hate dicks"? And if she says something I respond with "I just mean I don't like mean people." Now, if the shirt says "Hey judge, I like pussy too. So we have that in common." I guess that's okay since she started the conversations with the flag. Point is, my, or her, sexual affinity isn't relative or appropriate for the court room.

We could even be so obtuse to assume that her gay pride flag doesn't mean she hates straight people. Maybe we need a black and white flag that is "straight pride". We don't hate the rainbow, but we're proud to be straight and stand up for the inclusion of straight people everywhere. And since we're advertising our sexuality anyway... And while the rainbow is supposed to be "inclusive", they basically include everyone who isn't straight. LGBTQ...S. Now you're inclusive.

Whether she's biased or not, the flag suggests to me that she is or that she has a chip on her shoulder or something to prove. And in her case...no flag needed. Your honor, we can clearly see that you're a lesbian.

I don't think you mean this the way you worded it. Or maybe you did. Laura Ingraham, who I love, wears her cross necklace on full display all the time. And I'm very okay with it. Not because I am or am not a Christian, but because she can't be shamed by the media to hide it like so many closet conservatives in Hollywood.

But religious organizational members frequently announce it constantly. Yamikas, turbans, cross necklaces and jewelry, fish stickers on cars, or whatever. I don't like the blacks wearing the Black Power shirts and then hating on anything white. I don't like the Mexican flag waived by Americans. I don't like the blacks and their Africa pendants even. Yes, we're all fully aware you're from Africa at some point in your families history. Then again, all of these people doing all these things don't keep me down either. Waive your rainbow flag I guess. I don't get it. I thought you wanted to be treated equally, not differently. I thought you wanted color blind society so why do you daily remind me that you're different? In fact, why do you have to check the ethnicity and race boxes on the 4473? Especially since we cannot profile or collect and act on useful statistics regarding race in crimes? Oops. Getting off topic a bit.
