should probably throw in a brushless since the brushes will eventually wear out. and of course a lipo since the nimh will lose capacity. Pretty sure it'll need some. better shock oil to accommodate his juvenile driving habits. better pull that body and drywall tape/shoe goo it now...

Lol, shoegoo and drywall tape already applied. Do I look like a noob or something!?

Honestly, I doubt this truck will go brushless until the motor quits. Just can't see any use for it in a 2WD pede. Even brushed with NiMH it's hard to keep enough traction up front to steer. And Butters has a blast while the truck still maintains a certain level of durability.

I will handle 2S lipo but I'm not in a rush to get more. Have a couple for the Rustlers and may pick up an extra at some point, but no rush.

Got a bottle of shock oil and might stiffen his up some, at least in the back to loosen it up a little and hopefully get it to turn a little better. But too stiff and the cheap crappy caps will start popping off.

Butters truck got fixed. The $6.50 onky turned in to $45. He likes green so i left with green A arms it didn't need and a green wheelie bar it did. RPM castor blocks, hex screw kit, and an extra set of front bearing carriers.

He wanted to drive yesterday and asked if he could run the Rustler VXL while I got his truck. Told him ok but go slow. 3 minutes later I come back out and the Rustler is dragging its butt like it has worms. I've bashed the crap out of thst truck, high jumps, horrible landings, smacking the chassis, no problem. 3 minutes and he blows a shock cap.

Spring retainer and rubber diaphram are somewhere in the yard. Should only be about $5 to fix...

One of the guys on my crew picked up a brushed 2WD Slash last friday. Another is getting a 2WD VXL Slash tomorrow. (3rd guy got a faggy LaTrax Rally).

Mentioned the track I had started in the pasture, we are looking at getting it finished up one day for some friendly competition. Should be interesting.

Gonna be a sandy surface for now, caution tape lane borders, clay jumps. When the tank goes down I'll start digging again and building the lanes up with clay, gonna take a lot of running over a crushing to get the clods packed down. If it goes well then we might move to soking and rolling it smooth. Should help keep the water off and be a little less dusty.

Might eventually put up real borders, or just build the lanes up about 4" higher than the surrounding land so going off track is it's own punishment. I'll have plenty of clay to work with.

Picked up new shocks today and some 45wt oil. Thicker oil made a pretty good difference in handling on the Rustler so I went ahead and put it in the rear shocks on the Slash.

For all the crap people talk about the stock Ultra Shocks I've only has the one pop a cap and both on the Slash were still full with no air bubbles.

Well, did some racing on our temp track with the kids and a couple guys from work. Track area was ~60X80'. Had a lot of fun.

Crappy vid quality due to lots of digital zooming while editing the vid.

That track is probably going to flood tomorrow. Always had some run off but since starting it we've done other stuff that puts more water in the area. So I've relocated to higher ground and increased the size to about 120X80'.

Sand is pretty loose but should pack once the grass is killed off. Probably end up mixing in some cheap topsoil to help hold it together a little bit. Have to hold off until after the rain to spray the remaining stubborn areas of grass that didn't wan't to rip out with the tractor. Then start working on the jumps and eventually some solid lane borders. Everything will be pretty much cost free up to that point and maybe I will come across a supee cheap option between now and then.

Now that it is warm enough to be outside and not get frozen fingers I am going to get the Syma X5 out and fly around. Wind has been a bitch lately but yesterday wasn't too bad.

Looks like there's a buncha Traxxas fans here that suffer a lot of broken/worn parts- not sure where y'all are getting replacements, but I used DollarHobbyz a ton for spares when I was racing fulltime. It's been awhile so I'm not sure if the pricing is best, but for my T/A 8th scale Buggy and Truggy parts, they couldn't be beat. Just scanning over the Traxxas Parts list looks pretty cheap to me-

I actually get very few broken parts considering the abuse I put my cars through.

When something does break it gets replaced with RPM and never breaks again.

Mine have been sitting on the shelf for a while. Thought about it last night and checked the batteries. Just nasty outside.

Another reason to get a quadcopter :)

I’ve had a Traxxas Aton for a while. No cameras or FPV but it’s a hoot to fly and tough as nails.

I have 3 quadcopters. One for pictures, one for outdoor play and FPV, and one for indoor play and FPV.

Quads are way more fun with goggles.

Yep, goggles are cool. I have a set of fat sharks that I used with my phantom before I lost it scouting for hogs. What I want is a DJI Inspire.

I use to race Associated RC10 off road back in 84-86 and was off road state champ in 85. Sold it all off when I got out of college. I started racing 12th scale carpet road coarse and came in 2nd in the state championship after winning every heat up until the finals. Only picture of the car I have left.

The only races around here are mini sprints in Waco. The stupid little car is 200 bucks and they race on a short indoor oval. Cars are around 1/16th scale, maybe a little smaller.

I’d rather race a road course unless it’s something like the large dirt ovals I’ve seen Rustlers and similar trucks run on.

I ran 1/4 scale WCM cars back in its heyday. Big Nationals events. 10K purses. I was also working at WCM at the time (which really helped and I was involved in the traveling). Ralphie Burch was our factory sponsored driver at the time and he also worked at the factory.

    I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Finally dug the batteries and charger out of my garage, which since we moved in, looks like a combination of a storage unit and Iraq.
2 of my 6200 mah 2s and 2 of my little 2200mah lipos had puffed. The 2200mah was a big loss because they are discontinued, and everything else is 105mm long, so I had to trim the battery tray in The Tacon Valor they go in.

One of the ECXs is still eating the rear diff. They're both running 2s on 4300kv.

The little Tacon Valor destroyed it's shell, Looks like the most readily available shell will be a 1/16 mini revo Ford Raptor.

Haven't touched my Revo since 2017. Have decided to clean it up, it's only had 1 gallon of Nitro through it and it's heavily upgraded. Going to put a brand new engine in it and Hopefully sell it quickly.
Also have a 2nd Revo that needs to be assembled, also RPM everything. That'll get sold too... and proceeds from both will fund my new project.

In the meantime, I somehow stumbled across a Slash 4x4 roller, brand new, for a good price. Gonna slap some electronics in it and let the kids bash it up.

    Couple recent pics...
