Just saw the Taurus Tracker is $450ish. About half the price of the Alaskan and most others mentioned. I might get that one for my trips up north. Likely the only time I would carry that one.

629 or Redhawk. Voted redhawk just because it would be the one I would grab.

I got my redhawk used but so lightly used it didn’t have marks on the cylinder for 600 and my 629 performance center new for 700 something. I would happily hunt for good deals vs settle with a tracker. I tell people all the time, it’s just a little bit more to save up. Don’t just settle. I do not trust those trackers.

Not a fan of Taurus SAs, but the Judge is a good one. I might take a chance on the Tracker for half the price of the others.

You can make 44auto rim cases, to be shot out of the desert eagle, from 308 cases.
I wasn't familiar with a .44 Auto Rim cartridge. I thought DEs were chambered for regular (rimmed) .44 Mag. The only rimless .44 made from .308 that I knew of is the .44 AMP which isn't (or I didn't think was) used in the DE. Thus, my confusion. Thanks for the clarification; now I need to go off and do some research to fill the gap in my knowledge.

I’m pretty sure its the regular 44 magnum, because I remember reading somewhere that’s what enables them to run the 50 ae on the same pistol frame. The 2 rims are approximately the same size.

    Gunz are icky.
The Desert Eagle is chambered in standard .44mag.
It was never available in 44Auto Mag.
    Two entirely diffeent cartridges.

I could have sworn the DE was automag. You positive? Who made the automag?
