Had a chance a few years ago to talk to some NRA Corporate folks.....told them how the NRA had lost touch with it's members and how bad they were screwing the pooch with their "blended learning" initiative with NRA Instructors.......they didn't listen.....turns out I was right and they still haven't recovered from that fiasco........

I will tell them again......if given the opportunity........

See I am the opposite now. I use to try to always go to Shot. I went last year and am tired of it (granted I was sick when I went). They actually charge more for a ticket if you are LE/Military as opposed to employees in a gun store so I always went under my buddies store. I actually talked with NSSF about this but they basically said nope, we ain't changing it. Meanwhile the LEO section continues to grow and many LEOs buy a lot of stuff there, myself included. Throw in the overpriced food, resort fees at all hotels, panhandlers, and the smell of MJ all along the strip and I decided not to go this year or probably ever again.
The flip side to that is I went to the NRA Show this year since it was in Dallas. Enjoyed it immensely and it was free since I am a life member. I also think the NRA does a good job, hence my membership. Hoping to go to the show in Indianapolis this year but we'll see.

I and my team of weird bastards will be there this year, but since they kept the rates the same yet refuse to mail out badges...instead making everyone stand in damn lines to get those badges...fuckkk 'em, I hope the money they saved on mailouts is reflected in a huge downturn in attendance. This was the last straw...NSSF is a bunch of fucking Fudds anyway, and I dislike giving them money. Strange how they bend vendors over for booth space, allow the Vegas Mafia (err, "unions") to bend vendors over again to move their stuff to those booths, and then charge attendees for tickets. NSSF can suck start a shotgun, en masse.

I was invited when I worked for a manufacturer. Ended up not working out. Didn’t feel I missed anything.

As for the nra, I’m old enough now I don’t feel bad for not paying for the lifetime membership. Don’t get me wrong, it’s important we invest into special interest when it comes to guns. The anti gunners have deep pockets. The problem I see with the nra is the board is pretty much just for show. On top of that, they are fudds. They are cool with banning some things like bump stocks. They play the P.C. card. Too afraid to get aggressive and put these anti gunners down. Too afraid to go back to Heston’s way of zero compromise and doing a speech after a shooting. Heston had balls. Currently the nra is filled with fruits.

Just FYI, a guy named Mixflip does a daily video on youtube of how he spent the day at Shot. It is entertaining and informative. Kinda like being there if you aren't.

A good job? What do they do that is good?
I thought this was about Shot Show? Since we've gone off on a tangent about supposedly how useless the NRA is, I'll answer you.
One just has to go back to Bill Clinton era when he gave credit to the NRA when the left lost a bunch of elections. Do I always agree with them? Nope just like I don't always agree with DT. That doesnt mean I dump them when we don't agree.
Ollie has come and spoke at our Church, I don't consider him a cardboard cutout for the NRA. Comparing the NRA show to Shot - well it is smaller which is a good thing, the vendors I want to see are there, I probably get as much or more free swag, and I don't have to pay a couple hundred dollars to attend.
Ok you don't like the NRA, join another group to defend your 2A right I guess. Me, I am proud to be an Endowment Life Member.
