Santa Maria, are you retired or just wired up?

I struggled to load 150 rds of 40/10mm. It started with every fourth or fifth round refusing to eject but after 100 rds it was every flipping round.

EZ-E had asked about reloading and I said I'd be happy to let him see how I do it but I'm going to need a new press, first.

I'm done with Hornady and their crappy CS for good, I think.
Hot damn! That kinda failure rate from a hornady makes my crappy little Lee pro1000s look like Dillon's!!!

I got tired of fiddling with my Hornady LnL presses. Now I've got two Dillon 650 presses and I can load ammo instead of trying to make the press work.

I got the lock washer already. I don't get how bad it got so quick.

I found the highboy video that talks about setting the pawls so I feel like I have a fresh approach. I'm going to start with locking down the pawls and starting over in the morning.

When it's run it's run well, for me but this reminds me that my press came assembled(used maybe?)which puzzled CS the first couple of times I called them.

I did pull the shellplate, brushed it all off, brushed around the primer shuttle including the primer punch. I'm pretty meticulous when i get a stoppage I try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

What I don’t get is the night/day turn the press took from the last time I loaded!

All I did was put it back on the InFab stand, take the dryer sheet out of the powder hopper, add powder and check the charge thrown. No other adjustments.

I’ll be watching highboy in a few minutes and will get it dialed in.

    Thanks for listening y’all.

Tolerances are tight so they load good ammo.

The problem is the little shavings of brass, powder kernels, or any other gunk that reloading causes starts to cause issues.

I am sure you will figure it out and get it operating smoothly again.

It got worse yesterday afternoon so I quit messing with it.

At the end of every cycle(push or pull)I would hear a rustling sound like newspaper moving a very short distance(?).

I looked on the web and found highboy’s videos about pawls so this morning I watched it and started by setting them all in then adjusted/lined them up but it still jammed at ejection and rustled.

Next I took it all the way down(hub off, tube out, baseplate off. Nothing looked any different after wiping it all down. Reassembled(twice since I forgot the tube)and no more dragging sounds.

I can’t wait to go home and try to eject some brass!

About three minutes on the phone with Hornady CS and I’m gtg. Loading Speer brass turns my LNL into a turret press(well, it fails to eject so I call that a turret)!

A couple of weeks ago, I loaded up 500 rounds of 124g 9mm ball with a new load. Shot 40 or 50, and they seemed good. Got another 500 bullets today. I'm gonna start that post haste. Maybe it's just me, but going to the range with a .30 cal ammo can full of 9mm makes me happy.

Oh dang! Got a box from Lee today. A while back I learned the secret handshake for the lee website. Today I got the rest of the pieces for a pro auto disk, a punch for a .452 bullet sizer, a 452 bullet size die, a 460mag seating die, and a handle kit to convert the last of my presses over from the old cast aluminum handle to the steel rod handle. Plus a few more parts for one of the pro1000 carriers that broke.

    It makes me happy too.

It makes me sad when I fill up a 50 cal can and have to carry the dang thing though.

Loaded my first round of 38 S&W. The Lee autodrum powder measure wouldn't dial down low enough so I chucked the insert into my lathe and took enough off of the face to make it work.

    My great uncle did that.
I picked one up a while back but when I was laid off in 2010 I sold it to majormadmax. Never really did get a chance to shoot it. I have a couple empties laying around though I've found mixed in with range brass. When I have enough I'll send them your way.

    Thanks!

It's a little awkward to shoot because of the grip angle but I still like to put a few rounds through it from time to time.

Added a pin to this sucker. Makes deburring a little nicer. It's a cut down polished torx key, I scuffed the bottom and lock tighted it in place.
