That is where the issue comes in. Justice is not administered the same. I already said he should be fired but a lot of people posting here could keep their job with a Class A DWI conviction. Him not so much. I highly doubt another agency will touch him. Judges and most attorney's do not have that problem. It isn't like he opened up with the smg.

Yep he should have known better. Did he learn his lesson? Who the hell knows. It is the same as DV. Most here can get away with a conviction. That is the death of your profession in LE ( and a lot of spouses know it).

You're right, that is probably why they keep him around.........to come for your guns. Do you live in that county or municipality?

He's enjoying special rights and privileges above a regular citizen, so he should be expected to behave better than the average person. With power comes responsibility. Many of us would love to have an MP7 but the .gov says we don't deserve it.

Yeah, it does smack of excessive privilege.

I already said it but I'll say it again since this is in the Class III section. The news story is he was arrested for DWI, which is wrong. The fact that he had a smg is not relevant whatsoever.

But, it was in his car!

It is relevant. We've created a higher class of citizens (especially in places like CA), and they should be held to a higher set of standards than the peons.

Was this in CA? Well then that .....doesn't change a thing. Honestly I think you are going overboard with the "higher class of citizen". What does that even mean? Doctors write scripts and attorneys can issue subpoenas. You want that higher class too? You used the word peon, not me. If that is how you see yourself because you lack powers of arrest..... He is held to a higher standard and I already explained how that works.

And? Was it his or the department car because I am getting confused with the opposing comments. Either way, how does having a smg (department owned and issued I am assuming) in a vehicle relate to him being impaired to operate said vehicle?

He was arrested, he was fired, and he will never work again as a LEO (most likely). WTF more do you want?

Simple solution. Join a PD go thru swat training and ask for an MP7.

Maybe that is what what they are wishing they could have done? Lots of penis envy, I mean smg envy going on here. C'mon fess up, who here that has posted has a DWI conviction and got screwed by da man?
