You lost that battle on about page 5.
That being said, Fireball would junk up the thread either way.

lol. true. That was my best "get off my lawn" imitation.

Bought a bottle of Glenfiddich 15 yr Single Malt last night. Gonna pop the top tonight. I made the switch to Glenfiddich from Glenlivit a few months ago. The Glenlivit 12 is like turpentine compared to the fiddich 12.

I started with Glenlivet. I moved to Macallan as my brand of choice a few years later.

As for a less expensive blend though, I really like The Famous Grouse

Quite Honestly, I haven’t tried Henry McKenna, brought to you by the fine folks at Heavenly Hill, distillers if Henry McK and good ok’ Elijah Craig.

Since I’m running out of actual distiller produced bourbon to try, guess this’ll go one the list.

It's good stuff for the money. Won a blind tasting against pappy a while back.

I've eyeballed it, but have never tried it. I have been waiting for someone to jave it so I could try it first.
I dont drink Liquor. I have a bit of a sweet tooth and am more partial to liqueurs. However, one of the guys at work recommended that I try it and its awfully good. My kids love it too.<yes that sounds weird...they are 30+>

He said its seasonal so strike while the irons hot.

I think all scotch tastes like turpentine.

Rahr & Sons Brewery in Ft Worth makes an ale called Winter Warmer. It's aged in whiskey barrels for a year then bottled. At 9+% alcohol it will warm you up. For me the first sip was kinda tough but wait a minute and try the second one. Good stuff

    I’ll second that!

I always heard while growing up, typically scotch drinkers didn’t like bourbon and bourbon drinkers don’t like scotch (obviously, I fall into the later group). But I see from this thread we have some folks who apparently like both!

Most people I know are either Bourbon or Scotch drinkers.

I like both. I also enjoy several different types.

I even tried Laphroaig. I can’t say I enjoyed that one.

Somebody tell me whats better than Johnny Walker Blue so I can avoid the learning curve and just skip straight to it...:green:

Balvenie Double Wood or Caribbean Cask.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, not sure you’ll appreciate it, though.

Scotch whisky is kind of like barbecue...there’s so many variations out there it’s kind of overwhelming.

Find someone who’s done a lot of tasting, tell them your preferences, and let them make a recommendation.
