Loctite is releasing when heated. While I cannot recommend a gun smith, I can recommend using a soldering iron on the tip of the catch.

Did not try soldering iron but did use a heat gun 1100 degrees did nothing
There is a lot of metal at a buffer catch. Your going to have to let that heat gun ride there for several minutes to get that heat down in there to loosen the loctite.

Soldering iron will inject that heat directly onto the problem area without affecting the surrounding area too much.

    Pot of boiling water...

    Will it move at all?

Is there room to push it down more?

Just thinking if it will move at all you can work it up and down and eventually break it free.

Take a punch and try to tap it back and forth too. Anything to get it moving.

Pot of boiling water may be just the ticket. Good idea.

Getting it moving is a good one too.

Blu loctite isnt all that heinous. Maybe boil then immediately get it moving while hot.....yea, thats the ticket!

If the brand was actually loctite, the blue thread locker isn’t horrible and will release with minimal heat. What you gotta look out for are the Chinese thread lockers such as from harbor freight. Their blue is like others red. It’s a nightmare.

Op, if you need to use some tools pm me. Just be patient and apply heat while carefully using needle nose to wiggle the retainer free. Tape the receiver up so you don’t mar it. Tape your pliers too if you want. Steady hand, heat, and staying calm you can do this.

Edit: I would apply heat first, then wait for it to cool off, then tape it, then see if you can’t crack the thread locker free. As another member pointed out, a light tap with a punch may be the ticket

    Glad you got it out.

Obviously I have had a similar experience and it sucks right until it pops free.

    That's why we are here.
