I need a new guide rod for my Remington 1911 R1, "someone" must have misplaced it after its last cleaning:banghead:. I have heard a lot about some (or most) of RIA parts being interchangeable with other 1911's, but I am not sure about the guide rod. It is a full size if that makes any difference.

A 1911 guide rod is a 1911 guide rod is a 1911 guide rod. You need either a regular or a full length guide rod. Stick with whichever was lost and you won't have a problem.

Not exactly true. Commander sized and smaller 1911s require shorter guide rods. Guide rods for flat wire recoil springs are smaller in diameter.
