I'm conflicted about this. On one hand getting shot over $5 bucks is bad. Then on the other, walking out on a $5 meal?

The bullet he shot the dude with was about $1.30. According to the math. Shot/walkout was over about $3.50. The price of the gas it took to drive up there to get a $5 meal.

The economics on this are pretty messed up.

I was thinking the same thing. I would hate to get shot in the ass over a $3.50 meal!!

    I’m not conflicted at all.

Employee left the business, confronted and maybe initiated a fight with the patron, then went back in, got a gun, went outside, shot the customer, and also a co-worker.

That, in my opinion, is not reasonable based on the information given in the article.

While the act is theft, the punishment for theft isn’t death by firing squad, according to the law.

I didn't see the part that the guy shot a co-worker too.

    That's garden variety crazy.

The $5 bucks will pale to the fines, lawyers, and his destroyed life.

    Gunz are icky.
    To hell with thieves.
    Of all kinds.
If more of the bastages got shot we'd be all better off.
And yeah, what kind of a turd walks out on a $5 buffet?
Surely he was a profound contributor to society.
You can bet there is more history to this than we are being told.

If that guy has any interest in that restaurant, it won't be open long. He is going to jail and I would imagine sued for everything he has to his name.

Circumstances don't look good for the shooter if he wants to claim it was justified.

The small amount of money sucks, but we don't know the circumstances or how often this has been occurring. Besides, there's no good answer when it comes to at what value of money does it become worthwhile to shoot someone. What's a life worth?

You guys are missing the real issue here. That issue is personal integrity, or morals.
The guy decided he was "entitled" and he was above the law.
I see it everyday driving to work. The car next to you turns on it's blinker and then dive bombs into your lane with no regard to your safety. I followed a car one day and confronted the driver. Her response was "I had my blinker on and I needed in that lane.
When you turn your blinker on your are signaling your intent to turn. The driver that is in that lane legally has the option to allow you in or not. That is the law.
Far too many people think they can do any damn thing they want with no consequences.
I am glad I don't have many more years to deal with this crap.
I am concerned about what kind of world we will live in twenty years from now.

You confronted someone for cutting in front of you?

ETA: 99% of the time, if someone uses their blinkers I allow them over .

Confronting people on the road is stupid.
