I'm going to spend the money anyway so I may as well get a small reward for it.

No annual fee is nearly a must. It's probably been 25yrs since I had an AmEx or any other card that charged a fee.

What card do you use and what rewards do they give?

Citi double cash. 2% back on everything. 1% when you buy and 1% when you pay. I pay it off each month, so I get the 1% for purchases this month and the 1% for the payment for last months purchases.

Citi also offers a computer program that will generate a new credit card number for each internet or phone purchase that's only good at that particular site for a specified period of time (usually a month) and you can set the credit limit too. So if the number is stolen, it's worthless anywhere else or for more than the set limit. They also have text alerts for fraud that give you the option to reply back immediately when the card gets declined and you can run the card again right away and it works if you get a false flag.

I've got a BOA card that gives 3% on gas, 1% on everything else, offers a similar online card number generator, and is nice enough to alert me via text about purchases (3 days after the fact, usually at 1am).

Same answer as last time you asked this question.
Visa, no fee if one keeps enough money in their account, no interest because I pay it off every month.
It's not alot back, but usually about 1k/yr.

    ETA: But no, not exceptional.

That's the kind of info I'm looking for, thanks.

Current offer from Capitol One is 3% on dining/entertainment, 2% on "groceries" (but not Wally world :(), and 1% on all other purchases.

Chase Freedom. We enjoy the free money at the end of the year.... or mid year... or anytime you wish. We never carry a balance and they take care of us. Everything goes on the card.... and they back us 100%. If there is a discrepancy, we let chase know and they always squeeze the merchant.

Last time our card got compromised, chase overnighted our new cards.

USAA. If not eligible, than see what a local credit union can provide. I cannot ever imagine dealing with the large banks. Many have come out against firearms among other issues, personally.

2.5% cash back on every purchase would be nice!
I'm in a local CU but not surprisingly, they don't offer cash back cards.

I prefer Paypal Credit for some things. As long as I pay it off within six months there is no interest. So far I have never paid any interest. I don't get any cash back but I get to use their money free for 6 months.

the guys that avoid using cash back cards are just not responsible enough to pay them off every month.

Its free money and like a 1-2% discount on every purchase you don't have to carry cash and it lets you see what you really are spending at star bucks every month and that will save you a ton.

I get 1-3 free guns a year due to cash back ;)

It also depends on what you want air line miles or cash.

And if you do cash look real close at what you can get for that cash. In most cases if you get it turned into an amazon card or other gift card you are getting less than if you just take cash lol No Idea why.

and the worst way to use your "points/cash" is to actualy use them to purchase on Amazon they really give you a crappy return.
