I remember at one point Obama giving some speech saying nobody should be embarrassed because the are on welfare. I say that’s bullshit. Doesn’t mean I will treat someone poorly because they have it. But they should have enough moral character to feel ashamed about living off of others. If they did, the welfare system wouldn’t be such a mess.

Exactly! Welfare, as I knew it, was assistance. I didn't like having to get welfare, but I had to do what I could to house and feed my family. It gave me time to figure out what I needed to do to support myself and family. That's what welfare should be. Although I can understand that there are those with handicaps that preclude them from seeking a job that will support them adequately, it should never have been a long term living for those of able body.

Fortunately I have never been on welfare, nor have I used food stamps. To those who are, take it a day at a time. Find a job to sustain yourself and family, and things will start to get better. Don't give up. I hope things turn around for ya. Hang in there.

oldag has summed it up perfectly. The libs adopted the Chinese invented, Marxist adopted and Alinski pushed doctrine of incrementalism after WW2. The pace had been steady and, as mentioned before above, accelerated with Obama. This is a very important fight. A very important election AND a true indication of what our future holds either way. AND as has also already been stated, it will never stop. When you relax the libs (socialist/communists) just start over and gain again. There is NO MORE ROOM for compromise. We HAVE already lost things that should never have been in play.

The replies that irk me are the ones that are typed above the quote they are responding to. I know that's SOP in many message systems, but it just doesn't flow right on a forum like this.

Why is this gun forum filled with so many angry and unhappy people? Every day, someone in here is just itching for a fight. WTF? If this is how you act in public and at gun ranges, deal me out. I'm sure the people who built and own this site certainly didn't expect such juvenile BS. I'm sure the core of the members in here are sick and tired of the ass hats that get a thrill being jerk offs. Rarely does a day go by that someone is acting rude and or trying to pick a fight. We should be working together making this a great place to talk FIREARMS, instead of being ass hats.

Ever think that you may be taking things too seriously? Try not to take everything at face value. I have met several here and those I have met are good people. There are many comments made here that are made 'in light' of the subject.
