Startlegram had a story on it and stated it was Aaron's brother that handed him the bat. My guess is Aaron probably thought with witnesses there and wife filming, they would not shoot. Aaron chose poorly. As for the mattress, Aaron tried putting it in dumpster once before and found it back on his property. This was the 2nd time they tried to dump it when the argument began according to the story. It also stated the two neighbors had not before.
Regardless of the dickiness of father and son, at that moment in time, deadly force was justified. Did they provoke the situation? I bet Aaron was easily provoked.

I’m pretty much with you on this... however, comma, the Poeleece done decided that this was murder and instead of letting a Grand Jury hand down an indictment, if needed, they went ahead with murder charges.

Well, the DA has to prosecute the case, so we will see how that proceeds.

I know of a case where the police came in and arrested a guy, THREE years ago. The case still has not been tried, because the original complainant's story has some major holes. It may never make it to court. Meanwhile, the guy's life is on hold.

It works both ways. Victims wait years for justice and sometimes they don't get that. Most of the cases I saw, the defense attorney would continue to file for a continuance and delay for as long as possible. The courts have tons of cases to jear. And the judges try to push for some agreement. On trial day, there would be 10-12 cases on the docket. 1 goes and the others are thrown back in rotation. Imagine getting the subpoena, missing work, only to be told sorry not going today. That happens multiple times.

The son with the scatter gun, worked at the city of abilene zoning /engineeing dept
He helped people get building permits
    They already fired his ass.
I guess they figured he was guilty too...
No sense in waiting on a trial..right?

You almost get the impression the city officials didn't care for them before the incident, or they are getting ahead of the curve on the social media justice warriors.
