What if there's an emergency, and I have everything turned off because I want to nap?

There was a time when we didn’t have phones with us all of the time. There was one phone in the kitchen, and a second one somewhere in the house. You rarely made long distance calls because they were expensive. Some how, we managed.

I put my iPhone on do not disturb when sleeping. If someone in my VIP list calls it will get through, or if the person calls twice in a row. My role is global, so I get email 24 hours a day. If I didn’t put it on DND, it would buzz all night long.

I refuse to be dependent on my phone. My phone is for my convenience, not anyone else. One of the best freedoms I had when I was riding around the country was being off the grid. I had a laptop that I could connect to at my convenience, other than that, good luck finding me.

    ZX9RCAM,

    Sorry for seeming uncaring.

I was just being silly and certainly didn't mean any harm.

I too have a Daughter and Granddaughters who are blessed with great health for which I eternally grateful.

Once again, didn't mean to come across as I must've...

I only get visual alerts for new emails, no audible.

    ZX9RCAM,

    Thanks!

On a different note, just bought a TLR-1 Streamlight for my Glock 19.

I'm pumped, but may have to buy a new holster unless (we'll see...) it comes off and on easily and quickly as advertised.

I have discovered a couple of things about NoMoRobo:
    1. Works great on legitimate numbers
    2. Doesn't work at all (for me) on spoofed numbers, which has been my biggest problem.

Searching for a solution, I discovered the phone settings in my Spectrum internet phone account actually work against spoofed numbers. They only have storage for 30 numbers at present but they say they are going to 100.

Or just turn the ringer off. LoL
Right? My default ringtone is some quiet white noise. Don't even hear the spammers calling me.

I have custom ring tones for the 5 people I actually want to hear from.

Why are they calling you if there's an emergency? EMS/PD/FD will be there faster than you in most cases.

Well, you have a point, but if there is another issue and one of the daughters goes to the ER, we still like to go as well.

If anybody needs an extended warranty on their vehicle, I can hook you up. I get those calls at least once a week.
