    I do that quite often.
The getting excited and start pulling them part. Actually surprises me when I get a good group.

7/23/2018 Howa HCR in 6.5CM @ 100yds using Hornady American Gunner 140gr BTHP
.525 MOA I couldn't get rid of the side to side wiggles. Out of practice I guess, haven't shot since last fall. It felt good to be rifle shooting again. Over .2 off from my best with the same combo.

Oh, 6 rounds. I was having so much fun I lost track.

There wasn't much wind. I think I wasn't holding the rifle the same vertically all the time. A light bit of tilt could explain it. The top-bottom variance was only .23 MOA but the horizontal was .525. Hmmm, any thoughts? I'm still learning this stuff.

    Could be your parallax.

My understanding of the parallax setting is that if it's correct you can move your head slightly and the cross-hairs won't move. If incorrect a slight shift of the head causes the cross-hairs to move. I had it set for the clearest picture and the cross-hairs didn't move. I added a level to the scope last night and started paying attention to it. My "normal" position showed slightly off plumb and I made an effort to correct it but it may not have stayed corrected every time. Lack of practice.

If you moved your head after focusing to check it I think you are good. That's how I do it anyway.

FWIW the scope is a Vortex Viper PST-43128 6-24x50 EBR-2C(Mrad). At 100 yds it's usually 10-12- power as more increases the perceived shake. Got plenty of that without magnifying it.

Do you keep your thumb on the right side of the grip? I get more pulse movement when it's on the left side... like gripping a hammer.

Assuming the bags are set up properly, some free recoil testing might be in order. Personally, I wouldn't do it because that setup would kick too much...but it's an idea.

    Hmmm,

Would the translation of that statement be: "Be sure and take video, I want to get a good laugh."
