It's to be expected in New Jersey, but I'm more surprised by the party like it's 1776 theme.

It's not like we're at some special anniversary like 1976, or even a year that ends in 6. Why would any kid in school today find anything about 1776 parties interesting? They're all to busy with their nose in their phone, wrapped up in a lifestyle that no one (regardless of skin color) could have imagined back in 1776.

That would have been like the school telling me to party like it was 1492 when I graduated. I would have wondered, how the heck did people party back then and ignored it.

I like the last bit of the story that essentially slams the folks who have been raving about the Broadway show Hamilton, but somehow have difficulty with what this principal initially stated prior to the spineless apologizing.

Hamilton is fine because it is black people openly mocking our founding fathers and that is what is socially acceptable in 2018.

“I am writing to apologize for the hurt feelings this reference caused for members of our school family,” Principal Dennis Perry wrote in a letter to the community. “It was insensitive and irresponsible not to appreciate that not all communities can celebrate what life was like in 1776.”

    ...ok...

“I especially apologize to our African American students who I have let down by not initially recognizing the inappropriateness of this wording,” the grownup in charge of the school wrote in his apology.

    ...for piss sakes.

It's so fine that it [the cast] found it acceptable to preach to the sitting Vice President of the United States who happened to be in the crowd during one showing. I find that distasteful as hell and rude as fûck.

Stop being so commonsensible. It's triggering. :)

We may as well do away with all history.

Because everyone knows that things never were as good as they are today.

At least it's not Congo themed.
