Watch? People still wear them, yet carry a phone too?

Yes, people do. I don't carry a phone into the shower (letting me know how much time I can spend there in the morning), or to bed (wake up in the middle of the night, glance at watch, yay, I can go back to sleep for several more hours. try that with a phone!), or at the gun range, or when working on something that doesn't lend itself to carry something brittle with you... I also have a clock in my car and on my computer. I like watches. Sue me. :P

Well, I don't wear my watch to bed, I have one of those clocks that projects the time onto the ceiling.
I only need to look up.

If the projection was large enough that I could read it without glasses that would be pretty damn bright. Too bright for my taste! I even turn the pistol on the nightstand so that the sights don't glow into my direction. Damn, those Trijs are bright!

I have an alarm clock that actually lets me know when I have to get up, so if it isn't going off, I know I can sleep more. I can look at the time and gauge how much time I can spend in the shower, therefore I don't have to wear anything in the shower and clean all parts of my body.

It's not brain surgery. At one time I had several watches and one day while looking at the phone I carry I asked myself, "Why do I carry two devises that can tell me the time?". But I understand, some may feel naked without it, or feel it's a status thing.
