I received this from Brimstone today: "we brought on another guy who is doing a lot of the 'prep' work on the triggers, allowing me to just do the stoning and tuning. It's helping a LOT! Hopefully we can really start cranking them out and get down to a more comfortable turnaround time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but that's about it at this point."

I can deal with longer-than-normal wait times. I appreciate the fact that they stay in touch. Communication is a key element to successful business models.

Good contact and customer service is worth paying extra for in my book. I know Ive been to their site before but for some reason when I type in "brimstone 10/22 trigger" into google it doesn't come up with their site. This thread actual pops up first. Can someone help me out with my weak googlefu? I may send off the trigger group to my new takedown to them. Theres so dang many options out there for 10/22 triggers its insane.

So got both the 10/22 trigger (2lb) and the AR trigger (3lb) on this past weekend. And I can tell you that they were definitely worth the wait. Both guns are like a dream to shoot now. I can recommend brimstone for both.

It's been 48 days since I mailed my trigger group to Brimstone, and I received the following today:

"Your trigger is finished and will ship as soon as possible. It turned out very nice, breaks right at 3.1 lbs.

We usually package and ship a batch of triggers every Tuesday, so it could be a couple of business days before your trigger is actually in the mail. As always, feel free to ask if you are looking for status update, but rest assured that your trigger will ship on the Tuesday following this email. (It's going out today.)

Thanks so much for your business and your patience, and let me know if there's anything else I can help you with!"

I look forward to a solid review of the work.

While I can understand a small company may not ship daily, twice a week is reasonable IMO.

Almost 2 months for a 3 lb trigger doesn't seem so great. You could have just bought a drop-in hammer by power custom that would have accomplished that in a few minutes for about $35. How much did the work set you back? Did you get the tier1 or 2 package? What else does it include? Just curious, price really doesn't matter as long as you notice a difference and like the results.

In my case, I got the tier 2, and asked for 2lb. They say it is 2lb, and I believe them. It's a damn nice trigger now- the trigger group I sent them was from 1986 and was very bad. I also bought an AR trigger from them (3lb). It's also very nice.

IME, most of the guys on RFC prefer the pre 2006 trigger groups that used aluminum housings, hammer bushings and shims. The newer models can be worked just as well, they just integrate the bushings/shims into the hammer as one piece. Did you verify your pull using a guage ? 2lbs. is very light for a 10/22.

No, I have no way to test it. I am just taking them at their word. And yes, it is VERY light.

They have such a good reputation at RFC. That's what convinced me to go to Brimstone in the first place.

Amazing how heavy a trigger can be but still be great due to lack of take up, smoothness of pull, predictable glass like break and lack of over travel. Also a clean crisp reset helps the shooter on simi's.

I paid $75 for a Tier 2 job with a Rimfire Technologies std width trigger and auto bolt release. As Brimstone says on their website, just dropping in a PowerCustoms will only lighten trigger pull, which lets you feel the grit even more than before. Polishing/re-shaping is really worth it.

As I had a spare trigger group in the rifle the whole time my original was gone, I didn't really care how long it took.

They must be getting caught up, I mailed a group off to them on 5/3 and got it back 5/16.
Have to say they do good work. Don't expect much in the way of communication but they do good work.

Today's post about Ruger's new BX-Trigger reminded me I never really reviewed the Brimstone trigger I paid $75 for about 18 months ago. My trigger is 3.1 pounds, as measured at Brimstone. I am happy with it, and it's very consistent.

EDIT: If I was doing it again, I would have asked for a lighter pull. 3.1 is fine, but it could be even lighter and I'd be even happier.

For variety's sake, I will go with something else on my next gun. At today's prices, it would cost $140 to get the KIDD drop-in pack with everything I received from Brimstone, and the trigger would have been just under 2 pounds.

Just so you know, when ordering their Tier 2 trigger job (same one you got) you can ask for a 3 pound, 2.5 pound, or 2 pound trigger pull. I got a Tier 2 with the 3 pound trigger and I'm really happy with it.

There's a chance they may "touch it up" to get it down a half-pound for a small charge. Doesn't hurt to ask!

Edit to add: just read this whole thread so I apologize for the redundant info.

Thanks for posting that. It made me look up my emails to him, because I thought I had asked for 2.5 pounds. Turns out we miscommunicated.
