Just to frame this properly; this is my first actual new vehicle... Before this, my "newest" car was already 5 years old when I bought it, and before that I refused to pay more than $1000 for any vehicle. My previous truck was a '98 C1500 that had 250k miles on it, lol... I've always driven fun beaters, so this is kind of a big deal for me.

So here she is: 2013 Toyota Tundra Texas edition

She's big... Technically a 1/2 ton truck, but really I would put her closer to the 3/4 ton class. My old C1500 looks small compared to it. I really thought I was going to buy a F150, but after I test drove the Tundra it was no contest. The power and handling is impressive for a vehicle of this size. Oh, and if anyone wants to poo-poo it for being a Jap truck, it's made in TX which is more than I can say for that NAFTA-truck Chevy I had before ;)

I'm not sure if I got an amazing deal on it or anything, but they did offer me a really low interest rate and best of all they gave me $1750 on my old Chevy. I bought it for $500 and only spent about $150 on it in the few years that I owned it, lol...

I wouldn't have bought the damn thing if I were concerned about milage. IF I can keep my foot out of it, I get around 14mpg. Problem is the loud pedal is too much fun. I get more like 12mpg with the way I drive, lol...

I didn't buy a Wankel for the mileage either. The RX8 gets around 18mpg. I guess I'll be "forced" to ride the bike for the fuel economy

Now use it to drive your ass to get a haircut ya' hippy.
Not everyone can pull off the Jeremiah Johnson look. I won't think less of you for being intimidated by it. ;)

who's that sexy thang in the last pic?
See, Alex gets it... Wait, is that a good thing? ಠ_ಠ

    Screw the UAW!

Super nice ride there. Like you said.....screw the mileage. If you get a bad enough truck to pull or haul what you want......gonna burn some fuel! Again.....nice ride!

Some of us GM fellas have been able to get very high teens and low 20s with a few choice mods. With that said my current truck gets 10.5-11 but I'll be yanking the motor for some goodies in a couple months.

The Tundras are better built than the current GMs, just the aesthetics that dont do anything for me.

I bought a Tacoma on New Year's Eve. Employee pricing, year-end savings and a $1500 rebate knocked about $7000 off of MSRP.
